Oh, right. CBZ files are for some kind of comic reading whatever program I don't use, but they're also just compressed files with the images inside. In Total Commander I can open them like any other compressed file and just extract the files. Just confirmed that you can just open them with WinRAR and extract that way.
Okay watched the episodes and I'm not even going to say anything about them. A decent enough palate cleanser after the season 3 ender, but I'm not really sure I want to reach for the superlatives yet.
My early prediction is that episodes with a minimum of Twilight will be the better ones this season. But I'm giving it another three episodes for the season to get going.
I'm just waiting to get the itch again. I didn't realize until yesterday that there were actually some episodes I had missed last season I guess. I'm sure someday soon I'll get that itch again
So episode three was a step in the right direction for returning to form, let's see if they can keep this up. It's also a season setup in the vein of Lesson Zero, introducing what's going to be a replacement for the letters to Celestia.
Apparety episode one had a lot of tentacle stuff in it? A friend of mine didn't hesitate to tell me about how it created a lot of "interesting" fan art
So I played through Mega Pony yesterday and it's probably the best pony fangame around and, really, one of the better Mega Man fangames I've played. The engine is really solid.
Soundtrack's great too, it mixes Mega Man tunes with pony tunes. So for Pinkie's stage, you have a 8-bit chiptune mashup of Crash Man and Giggle at the Ghostie.
Play it.
I also tried Ponyvania: Order of Equestria which is good but really hard. So, well, proper for Castlevania, I suppose.
Right after season three, yeah. I kept track of the premiere dates for this current season but I never tuned into the first episode and haven't quite felt like catching myself up, even though I'm off from school at the moment and have the time for it.
Season 4 is kind of underwhelming so far, yeah. Episodes 1&2 were worth it for Discord alone, episode 3 was a step in the right direction and episode 4, as previously mentioned, was absolutely terrible.
So you might as well not bother with it yet, but read the comics.
Okay, now we're getting somewhere. Episode five had no Twilight at all and it was definitely the best of the season so far. Coincidence? Probably.
Mostly a CMC episode but enough of a Rainbow Dash episode to make it a better Rainbow Dash episode than last week's. It also didn't pick up on any of the season elements introduced in episodes two or three, so this is the kind of episode I want to see more of in this season.
So I tried the comics on Kenny's recommendation, does it get better than 'bad fanfiction with sort of pretty pictures added' after the first two? Because so far it just feels like they're trying to allure to the fans by making the characters duber and more shallow... and it's not working very well.
Well, I liked them pretty much from the start, so idk what you're talking about there.
But my answer to everything about the comics is "read the Rarity micro-series issue". You could also skip to some other primary chapter, the first one is issue 1-4, second one is 4-8, third is 9-10, fourth 11-12 and fifth 13-14. Right now I'd probably give you the recommendation to go with issues 9-12 and micro-series 3.
In related news, I found that main comic issue 14 and the Luna micro-series had come out. The pirate story concluded and didn't really get all that good, but the Luna MS was another Cook, Price & Breckel production and that always promises quality. So, yeah, was amusing. Second best micro-series! Though that might not say a ton given that the rest range from meh to fairly bad. It was good, though.
In other news, episode seven: Not terrible, but not really good either. By and large it just felt like a Swarm of the Century rehash with some references to other episodes dropped here and there.
