I think it should be in the same window, cause my computer is horrible so the same window would keep my computer fairly speedy. And if you really want it in a new window, you can just right click it.

I like it in a new window, because then I can quickly refer back to m2k2 when I'm posting about something Metroid-ey (which is fairly often enough).

Wrong, other way around. A link FROM m2k2 opens the FORUM in a new window.

Wait... I think... maybe Nate should have clarified this?

OOOOHHHH. I understand. Weird, 'cos I was just thinking about that about five minutes before Nate made this poll. I vote new window, because I don't want to have to keep going back to M2K2 for more Metroidy goodness.

Old way. Usually when I'm bored I'll use the non-forum window to surf and check back on the forum every now and them.

ok, this explains why i hadn't heard much whining about it. on any window manager which doesn't show you individual windows in some kind of taskbar-like thing, (i.e. on macs) things opening in new windows is excessively annoying, though you can just command-click a link you know is going to open in a new window in safari or mozilla to get it to open in a new tab instead, solving the problem.

i'll leave the poll up a while longer to gather more results, but this is very cool, as i get a clear answer to a long-standing question i had.

What annoys me is there is no working thing to click on at the bottom to go back to www.metroid2002.com/forum.

So if I close the home page link thing, I have to go through one by one in forums, or close it out and type in www.metroid2002.com again to be able to see all the forums.

It's not at the bottom. Next to the "post reply" button at top (home key should work nicely) it'll have a directory to where you are and you can click on the root to go back to the forum root.
