The very first boss in the game, in the first temple right before you get purple translator, is a large alpha spider that becomes infected with dark energy. I scanned him in his original form but forgot to scan him in dark form. Am I out of luck if I want a 100% save now? Thanks

No. 100% is not based on scans.

Scans now carry over through multiple playthroughs (on the same save slot), so when you play the game again on a higher difficulty level, you'll only have to scan the stuff you missed. (correct me if i'm wrong here, as this was mentioned for prime 1)

he didn't specify if it was GC or Wii. in the GC version, scans don't carry over.

if he has the wii version, this post isn't relevant then.
