*gasp* No one likes Fission Metroids but me? Oh well.

I haven't played Super.  How are there Metroids in Super?  Samus went Orkin Man (Woman) on them in II, with the exception of that one.

Wrong planet. (Correct me if I'm wrong) SR388 was the planet in Metroid II, Zebes was the planet for Super Metroid.

Anyway it can be assumed that the Pirates started breeding Metroids in SM again.

i hate fission metroids. They're good enemies but uncool metroids.
I've taken out a fission metroid with just the basic beams + charge beam before, but it wasn't a fun fight. Still, I imagine ome of the tougher Metroid II metroids are tougher than a fission. My vote goes for the Zeta, because they're highly dangerous yet still kind of cute.

Ya gotta love it...  :D
Wouldn't it be nice to have a mutating cat or dog? :). Actually, that would scare the crap out of me.

"Alright, your thing 1 and your thing 2. No! Don't split! Aw crap, okay, your thing 3."

It's kind of like those things :P:)

No, they're different planets, but SR388 is the ONLY planet Metroids "naturally" inhabit. In M1, the Metroids are taken to Zebes by the Pirates, then Samus kills them all. In MP, she kills the rest of the Space Pirate Metroids that they were storing on Tallon. In M2, she goes to SR388 and kills every Metroid in the universe except the baby one. In M3, Ridely kidnaps the last Metroid, then uses that to churn a bunch more. (Granted, he puts them out VERY FAST, but this is a video game.) Samus exploded the planet, which I would assume would kill all the Metroids. (Come on. You're not convincing me that Metroids can survive a PLANET EXPLODING.)In M4, the Metroids were made from the DNA the Federation kept. The place with all the Metroids was jettisoned.

Ah, I see.  So in Super, you have the same thing at the end before the last boss with the Metroid Larvae floating around, which you have to freeze and shoot?
Since it's proven that the Federation kept some Metroid DNA it's possible they have ANOTHER lab somewhere making more of em.

Same could be true of the Pirates. A few escape ships did get away from Zebes after all ;) Says that in the Prime Pirate data
Cook of the Sea
The escaping ships took their "cargo" to Tallon IV.  And we all know what happens there.

Actually, you don't have to kill every Metroid you see in Prime, if I'm not mistaken.  After you get the Thermal Visor and you're fighting your way back through, aren't there some Metroids in tanks that you can bust open with Missiles and kill them, but you don't have to for some of them, right?

Actually, if I remember correctly they're even there before you get the thermal visor. I remember standing on one of the walkways above, busting open the tanks and watching the chaos as the metroids slaughter all the pirates. And no, you don't have to kill them. Or any of the other metroids in the game besides the first one and Prime itself, if I remember correctly.

I think it can be assumed that it the "true story" Samus kills them all.  Whatever the circumstances, II's Metroid purging was complete except for the one hatchling.
my 1st post here but I'll be different. I'll have to go with the Fission Metroid not because of ow they look. I never really noticed that...I was usally running past them in hopes of not getting caught by one. While you can beat them with your Beams, it's a little to time consuming, that and more pop up so it's easier to use a PB...but I save those for Prime in case she calls out some Fission Metroids. And I've never played MII so I can't comment on any from that one. If it's ever remade or something I'll get it

Welcome to the boards, Roy!
Come on, more people like the babies than the bosses? MP can create all the other kinds. Therefore, it owns them all.
