Either Kraid from M1, or the MP credits. Both are so cool to listen to. I'm really getting into SSBM's brinstar music, though. HAL did such an amazing job of remixing nintendo music. Fire Emblem, Mother, they're great tracks.

I always liked the Deep Norfair music from Super Metroid.  The sort of chanted music it plays while you're on your way to Ridly's hideout.

I'm generally in favor of precussion and choral type music though.  I thought the music from the new Battlestar Galactica mini-series was great, I loved John William's use of massed vocals in the new Star Wars music, etc.

I like all sorts of music, except for Country and Rap, but punk, ska, and techno (and/or trance), and classicals are my faves.  I have a mix CD that contains stuff from Trance Control, the Dropkick Murphys [1], InSKAgnito, and the foruth movement from Beethoven's Nineth.

[1] If you aren't familiar with the Dropkick Murphys, and you like punk, check 'em out.  They're the only punk band with bagpipes I know of, and they do a kickin' version of both Amazing Grace and the Cadience to Arms.  Their website is here

I like the jazzy Phendrana Drifts song from Prime, Kraid's theme from M1/MZM, and Lower Norfair and Maridia from SM. I can't stand the music in MII and Fusion.

Those two are significantly different, really. MZM's isn't nearly as cool and creepy because it was re-worked to fit the whole "big band" theme of the music there.

The version of Kraid's theme doesn't matter to me, really. I just like the haunting and emotional melody... bummmm ba BUM ba BUM ba BUM bum.... The Metroidmetal.com cover of it is pretty good, but my favorite piece of theirs is the Brinstar theme, specifically the guitar solo at the end.

There's quite a few I like, which Includes Ridley's Theme and Kraid's Lair, but one that just seems to stand out for me is the music playing during the Meltdown sequence in Fusion (and it also plays again later when you're on your way to Ridley)

I have always liked the music during the battle with Ridley in Super: It adds to the suspense of a battle, making you wonder if you can actually get by him this time or not. (When I was originally doing low % Super runs, I was stuck here for many, many hours) Most of the variations of this are also good.

But, I have to say something about the new Prime 2 versions of the songs: Their new versions make me think of when I first played Super Metroid, WAY back when (Ok, so it was only about 8 years ago, but to me that's a long time :D)

I think my most favourite Metroid Music is the Title Theme from Metroid Fusion or music in Metroid Prime when fighting Metroid Prime Head Form.

And I want to mention, that I really like the Kraid Theme from Metroid.

Well, my favorite themes are :

Creteria - Metroid - Zero Mission
Phendrana Drifts, the Space Labs, and the Tallon Overworld (both the intro and the one after you defeat that rock thingy in Phendrana Drifts.)
Maridia - Super Metroid
ARC (The Ice) Section - Metroid Fusion

You know what? Ever since I heard it somewhere recently, I've begun to like that theme more and more. It's still not anywhere near my favorites, but it's pretty good for Gameboy anyway.
