Okay, you definitely get the picture, and even if you don't, you want me to stop anyway.
I played every single Metroid game up there. Super Metroid wins. Prime comes in second while Zero Mission/Metroid comes for thrid.
What luck, there's french fry stuck in my beard.
1. SM
2. MP
3. MZM
4. M
5. MF
6. M2ROS

SM and MP are very, very, very close for me.  In fact, the only reason I can think of as to why I put Super above Prime is because of the nostalgia factor. :P
So Retro did indeed a really good job according to most people here?

Wished this would also have worked for the follower of Master of Orion II .. ;)

Metroid Prime was the only Retro game I played, so I can't say that company is good or bad :)

It's the only Retro game anyone has played.

Really? I thought they... hmm.. Nevermind, it's just me.
I meant the issue of franchises getting new installments which are often worse.

In the case of Metroid it has turned out to be very well (metroid prime) done
1- Super.  Lower Norfair's music is my all-time favorite game tune.
2- Prime.  Even though I haven't played a LOT, I've played some, and heard a lot, and I already love it
3- Metroid II.  I love getting lost.  I need to know where to go next, though.
4- MZM/Metroid.  Just not as good as II, IMO
541368413681.257- MF.  Yes, it's way down there, just above FFVII.  Even though this is a Metroid list.

Explain your reasoning, poop face.

Yeah, seriously, I'm getting tired of all the anti-Fusion stuff here.  Fusion was a spectacular game, one of the strongest the GBA has seen, with great gameplay, great music, hard bosses, skillful distrubution of an overall creepy feeling with awesome "HOLY CRAP I'M GETTING CHASED BY AN ALIEN COPY OF MYSELF THAT THINKS I'M A METROID AND IS-" adn then you mess up, and it freezes and kills you.  The SA-X still gives my the screaming heebie-jeebies(to paraphrase Douglas Adams).  The game had plot, and a good, eerie one too.  The X are one of the most inspired enemies I've ever seen.  This was a great game, and all I hear here is "This game sucks because it's too mission-based and confining for a Metroid game".  A valid point, but that not anything to write the whole game off for.  This game was a blast to play through for me, and while I may not be very interested in really going out and mastering it like I'm trying to do with Zero Mission, it's definitely worth the money and is an essential game for any fan of everyone's favorite Jellyfish-blasting Chozo chick.

Your honor, the defense rests.

There are other threads that document quite well what others opinion on Fusion is.
Opinions are opinions, people can state their anti-Fusion opinions just as freely as you can sing its praises.

I really tire of arguments like "If you don't like this you're stupid."  Just because it's "Metroid" or anything else for that matter doesn't automatically make it gold for everyone else who may be interested in something similar.

If someone doesn't like Fusion because it's so "linear" that's not a "dumb excuse."  That's their reason for not liking something.  It didn't click with what they wanted to see in the game.  God forbid they want to play something more suited to their tastes.  God forbid they state an opinion as others do with praising it.  For shame!

It has nothing to do with if someone's a "true" fan of something.  They're  just games, and people want to play games suited to their tastes. And people treat games and console wars a little too much like life and death.  It gets ridiculous.

You have your fun, you share your opinion.  They didn't have fun, they stated their opinion and why.

I didn't say "if you don't like this you're stupid" or it's a "dumb excuse" or they weren't "true" fans, but you put those things in quotes like I did.  Or maybe you weren't talking about me.  Whatever.  I don't dislike people who dislike games that I like, I just noticed that there was a lot of concensus against Fusion, so I decided to have my say.  I was just defending a game that I liked.  No worries.

Your post was very argumentative and confrontational in phrasing. If you don't want to be attacked, consider how what you're saying is going to be interprited. Giving your opinions on Fusion is fine, but you did so in a way that implied your thinking was correct and contrary opinions were wrong. So if you're going to post like that, don't complain when you get a hostile responce.
I think even people who didn't like Fusion still bought it ;x

I liked Metroid II. Too bad they ker-flushed the DX version for GBC. That would've been neat-o keeno. I'm tired-o. Will edit-o later-o with more.

I was speaking in general.  I used "you" in more of a general sense too.  Sorry about that.

Isn't an opinion when you think a certain way about something?  Can't we express those opinions?  Half of the fun in message boards for me is the debate.  I love a good debate, but It's never personal with me.  I never once insulted anyone in my post,  and the most inflammatory thing I said was that I was getting tired of the anti-Fusion stuff.  Maybe that was a little over the edge, I admit that, but when Sarah responded to my it seemed that she was responding more to everything she had heard from flamers and the like who dissed people that didn't like Fusion, only she directed it at me, seemingly.  I wasn't responding to anyone in particular in my post, I just threw the opinion out there.  I also never said "I'm right" or "You're wrong" or "You suck because you don't like Fusion", I just stated my opinion.  Nor do I mind Sarah's post, because it didn't apply to me in a way that I can see.  I understand the difference between fact and an opinion, but if I have to phrase my opinions like I don't even believe them myself, what's the point of a thread where people say what their favorite Metroid game is?

My bad.  It took me long enough to type the above that I didn't see this.  Like I said, no worries.  :D
