First off, this comes with the disclaimer that i am a n00b and don't know what all you guys know so excuse this if it's been discovered.

I found this while attempting an IBBF.  I accidentally warped in-bounds before Hall of the Elders, but since i'd been trying this for so long i didn't want to give up just yet...  Turns out you can do a triple bomb jump or 3bj (whatever is in the bottom video of this page) up to a small part of the tunnel leading behind the force field.  This means it's possible to warp in-bounds right after the Wave Beam door and do the rest of the IBBF normally, which might save a minute in a speedrun.

Since i can't take pictures of the screen, i made a crude SketchUp model of the room from memory (sorry for scaling and any inaccuracies) showing approximate bomb placement and took a picture of that (model and picture attached).  Start at a tiny section of platform to the left of the pillar.  The trick is to push into the wall as much as possible (probably some type of ghetto there?), but don't go straight up or you'll hit the pillar.  It took me about 15min to figure out what i was doing, but only 2 tries to actually get it once i figured it out.

This was done on console, NTSC 0-00.

yeah, it is known already that you can get into that ball tunnel, but if you think about it, you have to jump up to that ledge, 3bj or triple or hbj or whatever into the tunnel, then roll to the door. as opposed to simply going around the side of the room and aether jumping to the door. i dont think that will save time. most people just door warp in bounds at the top ofthe room anyway.

The speedrun IBBF route doesn't go through the Wave door.

7 seconds too slow on that edit, dammit.
That's what I mean.
Yeah what they said. Also, that's a really neat picture you made there. :P
Yeah I was gonna say.... A++ on the picture.
Anyways, that was the original method for doing IBBF. Dunno how you skipped that in the SCU archive
getting there...
agreeed.
