Expectations

Hey all wassup
What does everyone expect out of the sequel and why?
From what i have seen so far, i expect to be disappointed at first but when i beat the game a couple of times, i'll be quite satisfied but ultimately admit the Prime is the best in the series.
I expect the multiplayer to be fun but will have flaws and won't match up to other FPS multiplayer modes. I certainly hope that doesn't meet my expectation for chance of a better multiplayer mode so people will finally shut the fuck up about HALO. (I have a vendetta for microsoft.)
I expect a lot more weapons, specifically beams that deplete, ammo. I want the spazer back (as an upgrade like the charge beam), the dependable trio of Ice Wave and Plamsa. I want the option of combining beams (super metroid). A total of 255 missiles, classic number gotta have it.
I mostly expect a surprise ending with open for another sequel.
But above all i expect to see a lot more metroids than there was in prime. More in quantity and quality. I want to a zeta evolve to omega right in front of samus and chase her around the lab spitting fire balls at her and eventually lunging at her head to suck her dry. i'm talking 10 hp/sec not 1.

Well all I expect is a fun game that is true to the series' greatness. I highly doubt you will see a Zeta transform into an Omega infront of samus and deal 10 damage per second with Energy shots but I am sure I will see a metroid (So far there doesn't seem to be a big role on Metoids in this game.).

I just want the story to be wrapped up. Hopefully this stuff about Dark Samus will finally tie together the pirates, the phazon, the X, whatever the heck Prime is supposed to be, and Ye Olde Matriarch, Mother Brain. In fact, if any of that is explained a little better I'll be happy.

I expect this game to own my soul after playing it for ten minutes. If it doesn't I'll be horribly disappointed.

My expectations:

1. Same tried and true formula of finding items, exploring, figuring out battles, etc.

2. A good story that does not hamper the game in any way (like Metroid Prime as oppose to Metroid Fusion).

3. Sequence breaking of course (real sequence breaking, not like Zero Mission).

I'm only looking forward to let the title screen with this awesome music and visuals run and run and run. That is all I need in order to be in Metroid-Heaven.... ;)

Joking aside I think this game will be at least as good as Prime, although I'm a little dissapointed that the multiplayer doesn't include any computer controlled players which makes it ultimately useless for me... completely useless :?

I'm really excited to actually find out by myself who this famous guy 'Quadraxis' appear to be (I was able to avoid spoilers! Yay! <- this was by someone who occasionally browses the ign site Laughing

)

yeah.. i know, but i can dream..... >:( i thought it was a METROID game not a SAMUS game heh
and where is the damn speed booster? screw the boost ball, you can't shine spark with the boost ball.
I suppose wrapping up the story would be cool but lets face it, nobody plays metroid for the story. Altho i would be pleasantly surprised to see a new Mother brain OD'd on phazon.
unfortunately, the multi-player will be useless to the majority of prime 2 owners. which is a real shame, you can grapple and shoot at the same time..... oh man, the multiplayer might just be really sweet.
thankfully almost no information was leaked on it.
we need more members here, more replies.... heh.

Well, I'll tell you one thing. We're definitely getting three beams that deplete ammo, and we're definitely not getting the trio of Ice, Wave, and Plasma beams. Unfortunately.

I expect there to be a gigantic boss that moves lightning fast and can kill you in one hit by stomping on you... and be the easiest boss in the game. That'll never happen though. Something more realistic would be a suit that makes you invincible to the dark world.

The dark suit only decreases the damage you take from the dark world. I don't know what the light suit does. I like spoiler tags.

I thought I read somewhere that the Light Suit makes you immune to the Dark World. Maybe I'm wrong.

The Light Suit is a fusion of Luminoth and Chozo technology.

Samus's Notes
The suit is fully resistant to the effects of Dark Aether. The suit is also invulnerable to the effects of Dark Water. You can move through it without being impeded. The Light Suit is able to access the Luminoth Energy Transport System.

Okay, thanks, that's what I thought.

I wonder if the Dark and Light beams will have beam combos? I'm guessing they will, but I have no clue what they could be.

I heard something about the dark beam being like a black hole type thing, but that was a long time ago and for all I know it was just on a speculation forum. Ehh.
