Escaped Tourian Trap *Glitch*

hi noob here, i have dial up so i haven't searched much, but from what i've seen online noone has a way of escaping tourian even with glitches but i'm halfway out by exploiting the phase-spazer beam glitch. obviously this could be common knowledge that it's possible to get out of tourian but i haven't found any solutions during my searches. feel free to call me noob or delete this entire topic if this is meaningless to anyone. be aware that i did this with an emulator to save time, although i own the real thing.

i'm currently in the room with the dusty giant bird.... i'm sure you all hate me for not bothering to look up or remember his name. i got past the grey door in the long room full of dusty creatures by repeatedly using the glitch and using load state each time it froze.

now i'm going to go back and get past the next grey door, so i'll come update when i do or decide i can't.

as i said, feel free to delete this and i'm sorry if this is a waste of time.

update: no replies yet, but i managed to get out entirely, with a particularly odd experience in the statues room. there's extensive graphical distortion, and saving and restarting causes the reset glitch to restart the entire game and intro. i'm going to try to fix the graphics in the meantime. this method of getting out of tourian caused all the items to reset as well as bosses, so i guess this information is useless to anyone wanting to simply get the items they missed. i also changed the subject from "currently escaping" to "escaped". i'll be happy to metion how i did it in more detail if anyone cares.

i myself haven't heard of escaping like that, but i don't use that glitch much. i wouldn't be at all surprised if it's known though.

don't worry about that. i still don't know the names of everything.

as for the items resetting, that's one of the main uses of the glitch, and IIRC it can be used outside of Tourian. it can also be used to trigger the planets explosion

EDIT: as for making the new topic, it may be better in the glitches topic, but i'm not a mod or admin or anything, so i dunno. shouldn't be a problem though

Has anyone found a method to get out that doesn't reset the items? Is X-Ray climbing feasible?

Possibly, X-ray climb does work in a lot of rooms, even when going through gray doors (though it tends to be more tricky in my experience). Navigation is a big problem here though, with a camhack on emulator it should not be that hard if it works, but on console it would be half past impossible if you don't know exactly what to do. I could go try this at least when I get some time.

I wonder if a version of the Botwoon skip would be possible with Rinkas. Probably not, but I doubt anyone's tried it either.

Even if it does work it would not be very useful, as all doors they colud possibly push you through are blue.

It does actually work. It's just more or less useless as CPAdolf noted.

Apparently the X-ray climb won't work to escape the gray door(s), because there is no door to get stuck in, in the first room...

Hello Yakew. I know you said you were on dial-up, but if you've got a little time to wait you can go to this topic and see some beam glitch usage to get out of Tourian. :)

Not sure exactly what you are getting at on the update, but as for the rest, there is no way to get around the glitch when trying to enter the rest of tourian past the metroid. Since I haven't gotten by without getting touched yet, I can't say for certain that you can't get past that. Also, I wouldn't expect anyone to use the glitch even if you found a way to skip tourian without any respawned items. Any level let alone tourian.
