Hmm...

Metroid Fusion.

MZM's stealth part was tricky at first. But there is nothing difficult about fusion.

Heh, right now we have the votes, reading down, as 0, 1, 2, 4, and 8.
I'd have to say ZM, but I'll vote fusion. They were both uh.....not much of a challeng IMO, even on hard mode (I haven't played fusion on hard). It seems that older games are always harder; It really ticks me off how -most- of the new games are too easy. I think the SNES days were perfect.
I'd vote but ZM isn't up there and I don't want to destroy the balance in exponential functions. Personally, I found Super Metroid to be easiest if you know where to go, but part of the challenge is figuring things out as well so meh. Fusion is easy because Adam is a douche, and ZM is so ludicrously easy I could have beaten it with one hand with less trouble than Fusion. Not that the game is bad, but it could have been so much more. Ridley was a joke :( (same as in Fusion too but less so).
Try for a fibonacci sequence instead.

Well yeah, Ridely was a joke when you figured out how to rape his AI.

I still say M2 is really easy. I think I died like once. And I know I died at least twice on ZM to Kraid.
lol no way
M2. I just got it again and played it for the first time in like 3-4 years... beat it in 2:17 and didn't die once, with most major upgrades and IBJ down. Still can't diagonal bombjump.
Another vote for Zero Mission here. Very short too. Lot's of fun though.

Oh crap! I voted for Fusion thinking it was MZM.  :? Oh well that and Super are the runner-ups in my book.

Now that I think about it, it's probably a tie between MZM and M2 for me..I know I beat both pretty easily.
One shall stand, one shall ball.
MZM, That's the only game I've ever recorded a time uner one hour, my fastest is about 48 minutes or something.
Super Metroid

Rarely ever die unlike M2 or M1.
Armor Guardian
I voted Fusion because MZM isn't on the poll. MZM's very easy bosses, auto-map, Chozo statues, and short length make much easier than its predesessors.
Fusion because I died about 10-15 times on normal MZM my first time through.  Never tried easy because I only had 3 hours to beat it and I knew that it wasn't possible to beat both in that amount of time.  Fusion was very self-explanitory on the other hand and having a friend with a finished game helped.  If anyone remembers correctly from another post, I tried to beat the SA-X before I tried to beat the little toady thingy in the quarrantine bay.  I also succeeded in that attempt on my third try. :D Then on my fifth, I beat the Omega Metroid too.  I remember when my friend beat Ridley on his second playthrough though, 200 Missiles straight into him… It looked sweet!

Sorry for the long post.

I voted Super because there's exactly one boss in that game who gives me trouble: Ridley.  He's a ridley and no doubt about it, but the others are pure cake.  (In normal gameplay, I mean -- I know going for low percent makes everybody harder, and can even turn a pushover like ZM's Metal Ridley into a nightmare.)

The Mother Brain battle is what gets me the most in Super.  Maybe I've been spoiled by a Brain who fights back, but how pathetic is it that the final boss of Super just sits there and takes it?  (I don't count MB's battle body as the final boss because the only challenge in that fight is unloading your arsenal fast enough, before the Brain's non-scripted attacks do you in.)  Even the original game is weakened a bit in retrospect by the boss's passivity, but at least in that game you had less energy to rely on... and the fact that Metroids respawn makes Tourian in general harder than it is in the later games.

And the other bosses?  I can't even remember the last time I died fighting one of them, even when I sequence break a bit and fight them with fewer energy tanks than I'd normally have.  The one exception is Phantoon... that ghostly bugger does occasionally get me, though a lot less often than in my unenlightened days when I fought him with Super Missiles instead of the Charge Beam.
I said Super too.  That was the first one I played and have been playing it for a long time.  I've got that game down squat.  The hardest boss for me is Phantoon.  I hate that boss.  Ridley is way easier then him IMO.
I have to go with Prime 1.

The only part of the game that was difficult the first time i played it was the first Phazon mine section. Now i can run through it on hard with my eyes close.

The hardest boss for me is thardus on hard. for some reason it takes me alot of tries to beat him. I can beat the Omega Pirate and Metroid Prime easily but Thardus still gives me a run for my money.
Why is every one voting for MZM, even though it's not a choice?
Anyways, other then MZM, the easiest of them all is Super Metroid, because I know it like the back of my hand.

Read the first page of this thread.  Then write a 500-word essay on the historical significance of that page.  Due date is Thursday.
Since Super Metroid lets you run through the whole thing, (thumb on B!!!), everything gets easier, as your jumps are always gonna make it. After you figure out where you can't go, there's only one place you can go, so you gotta go there! In other words, it's linear and logical, 'cause you can't break out of the sequence without mad metroid skills! Overall: Super Metroid's the easiest.
That and I've beaten it a whole lot of times  Mr. Green
My fastest time was 2:15... but I didn't play it enough times to pull a really good speed run... :(

Probably Prime I for me. I think the only times I died in that game were in the Phazon Mines and against Metroid Prime himself.

I know that Echoes isn't on the list, but if it was, then I would choose it over Prime I.
Definitely Super

Not because the game's EASY on its own (it took a long time back in 94 for me to get it... not even going into how many times Phantoon killed me...)  Just that I've been playing it for ten years now, so I've had plenty of play time.
Zero Mission, definitely. It's one of the easiest games I've ever played. Prime isn't too difficult either once you get used to it.
Right now SM is really easy, but I remember when I first played it on my SNES back in 94ish, when i was like 7.

Phantoon WAS A %$#@ nightmare.  And u couldn't save near him.
I think fusion was easier then zero mission. Pretty close call though. Prime 1 wasn't hard either
