You can "skip" boost... lol. 14% confirmed. (Actually it seems I don't have the option to turn on boost ball aiming, which might be a problem with the Pirate Homeworld SW)

Edit:
So here's a video, maybe someone smarter than I am could figure out why the hell having MBI in the bottom of this room gives you boost ball. MBI in this room also makes it impossible to unmorph which is why it took me so long to get out (and you know, MBI making the analog stick not work/not being able to see with that fixed camera didn't help).

Makes me wonder if similar things are doable on other upgrades. if you can collect Hyper Grapple without fighting ridley, that would put us much closer Nova Beam skip? (not to mention the assumed no % from Hyper Grapple)

Edit: okay... my mind is blown. You don't have to enter that room at all? MBI just plan gives you boost ball???
Does deactivating MBI let you keep boost ball?

I don't believe it does. I know that reloading from a checkpoint doesn't keep boost ball. This should lower the % though, any place boost is needed, you can just get MBI. I haven't tried yet, but I imagine having boost ball aiming switched on on a completed file will carry the setting over, meaning you could use boost ball aiming with this fake boost ball.
This makes the any% route interesting, you could probably use fake boost ball to access the Aurora Unit on your first trip through that room, and then go straight back to Ghor and get plasma.
Are you able to do ssj's with boost aiming?
Yeah, the problem with applying it to any% is that you'd have to wallcrawl to a cannon from either MDB or LSA, since you don't have boost. I guess extending the early elysia wallcrawl to transit hub wouldn't be too bad though considering the options, it's only a couple of extra rooms.
The other problem then is general movement and morph tunnels that require boost are really going to suck.

On the subject of low% if you can carry boost ball aiming from a completed file then this should almost be 14% since boost is replaced entirely by MBI, with the possible issue of not being able to do the phaaze SW?

you can boost SSJ, it's just sorta weird to get used to (spinning the pointer around before the camera catches up)

Edit: uh oh, I tried the boost thingy in the aurora chamber room and it's not active. Hopefully this just ends up being a matter of needing to reload the room. Can someone who actually knows how to use World Editor properly check what changes the roomstate here? or more importantly, what changes the roomstate to make Ghor appear in Main Docking Bay?
Apparently it's boost that changes the roomstate in aurora chamber.

Infinite speed unloads the blocks in Aurora Chamber, though you'd need to activate infinite speed with MBI so you can boost (which wouldn't work because MBI disables analog input <_<). Maybe there's still potential to activate the Ghor fight somehow.

Does infinite speed activate with spring ball in mp3? I forget.

EDIT: Oh right you would have fake boost at that point.

EDIT2: I'm curious if this would be possible in echoes as well.
MP2 also a bit MP1 speedrunning
All i understand is bread. A lot of bread.

yeah collecting Boost Ball is the trigger for activating the "MaintDoor and Ghor Sighting" layer, the "Tinbots" layer, and the "AU 1 Conversation" layer in Aurora Chamber. The Ghor layers in Main Docking Bay are activated by starting the first AU conversation.
rocks, locks, and invisible blocks
It's possible to wallcrawl into the basement area of the Aurora Chamber and deliver the vaccine, which lets you sort of talk to the Aurora Unit. The object you put your hand to shows up, but no conversation happens when you use it. Technically, if you could activate IS at this point, you could unload the boost ball gates and leave (by activating the "switch to lower area assets" trigger). Though it sounds like that still wouldn't trigger Ghor. <_<
So it looks like for now we can't skip boost, but there are possibly other uses for mbi that give us anything? Insta-killing bosses is obviously nicer than manually fighting them, but we still need nova for ridley to do any real damage, so that's not out yet.
However, does this let us skip grabbing the PED at all (Yes I know it can't be done under normal console conditions as yet)? If mbi works on helios, and if you can damage Ridley without needing Hypermode, then the only blocks are the 2 hyper grapple points (I think?), which admittedly puts us nowhere unless beating a seed somehow gives you the PED? (Pretty sure parax debunked this here: https://m2k2.taigaforum.com/post/the_i_need_help_topic2769_55.html , but we might at least be able to remove some of the necessary uses of the PED).

Also on the subject of the hyper grapple blobs, has anyone actually looked at the collision for the one in command centre? I messed around with it the other day and you can kind of get stuck in the collision using screw attack, but unless there's an actual hole somewhere I don't think you're going to clip through (unless we can find somewhere that works like the hyper ball blob near east elysia). The other option is then wallcrawling it but we wouldn't be able to get back out of bounds on the return trip if the forwards trip is even possible, unless you could somehow activate the canon point from OoB and never go back inbounds maybe?
MBI deals power beam damage in Corruption as opposed to cannonball damage iirc. All those bosses mentioned need to take hypermode damage.
So um how do you even get MBI? You've just started posting a bunch of stuff about what you can do with MBI but unless I've missed it you haven't explained how you actually get MBI to begin with.

It's the same way as in echoes, use a morph ball cannon while the room isn't transitioned.
In Echoes you need the room to unload mid-cannon launch, it's not enough to just use it while the room's not transitioned. Where can you do anything like that in Corruption?

Almost every cannon in Elysia I think. The two I've been using through are the Transit Hub and Spire Dock (after the bomb).

I run this here hotel of an evening
