It was mentioned here that when Nate redoes Scarlet's Super Metroid 0:55 100% DVD he was considering adding bonus footage, including "hilarious screwups".  How about just a compilation of such things?  This is something I've been thinking about for a while, and I didn't know where else to post it.

And not just the screwups either.  I've been watching a lot of recorded runs lately (including some of those "tool-assisted" technical runs, which I find endlessly entertaining, whether they're "real" runs or not--I try to stay out of that argument), and there are a LOT of instances of what I like to call "smartassery" while waiting for prescripted elements to complete.  Making Samus dance, for example.  I realize there probably isn't enough material to necessitate an entire DVD, but even if it was just a short video on the site, I, for one, would be entertained.

Nate should do one in the style of that promo video he did for the site.  That was cool.  Maybe you should do some accordion music for it or something.
I('d) like to watch (some MP3 runs)
He'd have a whole lot of tapes to dig through, so who knows if he'd take the time for it.

I'd watch it though.
the reason i haven't done this already is that it's *so much work* to save out all those bloopers for some future project that i never seem to have time for. i also more or less have to save them uncompressed, because i don't know what format i'll be working with them in when/if it comes time to do the project, and the space they use just really piles up in a rapid fashion. it will probably be possible to do this sometime in the future, but for right now, it looks like scarlet's run will be the only one immediately getting the treatment. :/

hers is one of the few i have alternate/screwed up segments for, too (and they're actually interesting to boot).
I('d) like to watch (some MP3 runs)
I don't even remember many.
oh, they're there. just trust me on this one.

Only 2 come to mind..and only 1 was funny.  The other got annoying.
Send me a PM of reminderness sometime.
although my echoes run was so awful it's difficult to believe there were any rejected segments at all, I might as well present the most inept piece of scanning ever, which was so dreadful I just had to crop and keep it.

Nice one DJ! I hate scanning that bar myself, usually do something similar to that as well... Embarassed
That was great...and very familiar. Laughing

Maybe this should just be a post-your-bloopers thread.
I would be happy to put together a vid of bloopers if someone sent them to me.  Bittorrent would be a nice solution for this if it would be possible to set up a tracker on someone's website.  Digitizing tapes is not fun though.  I'll leave that to Nate and others who have them.  Also, people who do speed runs from now on could try to save their tapes (if they use them) and digitize their bloopers.  Just send them in a iMovie HD-friendly format (DV or MPEG-4; don't spend hours compressing to DivX because it will have to be converted back to one of these in order to work on it.) and I will try to throw something together to represent all of the bloopers made by speed runners.

Now all we need is some of that Metroid accordion music…
