Haha, damn you. I was going to post this myself...
Well, at least I got to write the movie description instead. :D

There was nothing stopping you to write this post 1st Rolling Eyes
Erm, I dont think the time and percent of any speedrun (TAS or not) needs to be hidden considering it says everything in the publication.
Woah.

The boss fights were amazing. Ridley got pwned badly.

Amazing TAS.
That was epic. I didn't realize it was possible to kill kraid at the beginning like that with only missiles.
Armor Guardian
Ridley never knew what hit him...
Neither did Kraid, really...or Mecha Ridley, for that matter...
Speedrunner
Very great TAS run.

New route surprised me so much. I am sure that route is don,t best choise on console, because it includes much NO human tricks and impossible timesavers. It definitely is bit slower route on console.

But i still see there is much interesting time saver what i belive possible made on console. I think that suitless samus first alert is possible avoid on console, it looks pretty easy if you have fast refleks. Faster Robot Rildley is possible too, because i test that couple months ago, but it is 100% random apply speedrun. I can beat Robot ridley sometimes almost as fast as TAS, but i don,t never have enought patience apply that my speedrun.

Great job man. But next: It is time get Transience console run down. Spidey Widey beat his time once, but he don,t never recorded that.

It is interesting see 27.xx run on console. It is very possible, because Spidey time was 28.04 and game includes many new time saver. I think Transience route is still best choise on console. KRaid first route is too good, because Jagger-g get sub 30 using Kraid first route. I think Kraid first route is still bit slower than Ridley first on console.

EDIT:
I test new TAS tricks on console. That first pirate alert looks easy but it is much harder what it looks. I trying almost 30-50 tries but only two times i avoid that first pirate, but second pirate activate always that alerts. My zero skills are very rusty right now, but i think it is still too hard apply speedrun.

I test that new Blue Brinstar route before Tourian. It was at most 1 seconds faster than regular route.
Everyone seems to be absolutely amazed by the Ridley fight, but that strategy was the first thing that popped into my mind when I watched through Boltr's run during planning. Personally, I like the Mother Brain fight a lot more :P.

Getting past the first part of the suitless segment without getting detected is pretty hard and very random. But there's virtually no time lost by trying.

And yes, several parts of this route would be slower when performed by human hands or the time saved wouldn't be enough to cover the difficulty(the 4th missile tank before Kraid comes to mind).
Very impresive indeed, the Mother Brain fight was quite amusing, and the Mecha Ridley fight was shoking, I didn't even know you could fire supers that fast not even on a TAS, many time savers were pretty artistic (mostly midair bomb jumps) I enjoyed the run very much, Even when a TAS is pretty much perfect no matter who does it, you add these speedruns a bit of spice when you do them, I mean it not just a lame TAs were everything is the same, you come up with new ways of making things faster and that's what I like, many thanks and congratulations on you TAS.

mid-air bomb jumps? Does this mean he scales the column after pgrip using the surface-jumping and then morphs and bombs up from there?

Do I absolutely need Bittorrent to DL the avi?

EDIT: Afterthought, looks like he did Kraid first. He just discovered a trick that gives the Ridley first route another quick super missile for Tourian (and is even doable on console, I'm told). Is he going to try that next?
One shall stand, one shall ball.
That run through Tourian was a thing of beauty, nice job Fangs.

Okay thanks to the horrific quality yet visible vid on speedruns.net, I have seen it. It appears as though he missed a set of breakable blocks in the suitless run, though. That's gonna cost him precious frames. I've told him about it, but can you guys find the set? ;^) (yes, I'm too lazy to describe it again)

Also, I had been dazed as soon as he started moving left after the Norfair Return shaft spark. I just couldn't believe it. But then he did something easily doable on console that I didn't realize is possible until he did it (and he didn't even realize it until near the end): you can still do the final escape spark if you're not morphed. This basically frees me of the hassle of finding more shortcuts in the Kraid first route, because this means the Norfair Escape shaft spark is finally a complete trick. No need to cancel out the speed by having to backtrack. I assumed the Hello-Jump helped a bit in space jumping, but pretty much the one cause that forced me to grab it is to bypass that large room via ballspark. And even then, it probably doesn't even help THAT MUCH because of all the backtracking needed!

Then again, there's still the question of that shaft taking Ridley first minus that shaft plus speed booster. Sure, it's big, but I suppose it's not really HUGE. I don't need that tank he gets because I have all the normal missiles I need before facing Ridley (although I should make one minor adjustment to my route to replace the other missile up there I used to take alongside Hello-Jump).

So after this, I feel pumped to do a testrun. My first try I managed to get 5:09 at the save right before Kraid. Had I been recording, I may have accepted no higher than 4:59, but hey, it's technically the first HBJ attempt, so I'm gonna take it. I should be able to break my old "first segment" record, but I'm not sure on the save I should take after this. I'm thinking maybe the save right before the larva isn't so bad an idea, unless I decide to risk it and try to last until the save right before Ridley, keepin' it as close to five minute segments as possible. If I decide on the larva save, the next one is the Upper Norfair save. The last Tourian save is a must, then the Post Chozo Test save. That adds up to thirty seconds total, but statistically for me, it may save almost three minutes of mistakes. I'm thinking if I do better than my personal record (13:00 at Ridley >_<), and especially once I skip Hello-Jump, I can probably knock out tons of time. As it stands, I'm facing a five segment sub-29 testrun here.

AJ, you sure you don't care to give it another shot? ;^)

EDIT: Heeheehee, oversight strikes again! There's a minor...uh...cancellation of the fourth super tank before Mother Brain. And also I fail so very hard due to that tiny height difference after that point.
cool. the troids and m.brain were especially fun.

however i'm wondering why the avi version is 4:3.
I like Big Butts and I can not lie
It's not 4:3, it's 3:2 (240 in height, 160 in width)
i'll be damned. it is indeed correct in vdub ... why is my vlc playing it 4:3?
I like Big Butts and I can not lie
It isn't this is it?
looks like mac vlc fails.

So, did you learn something from this?

oh, nifty, it's on youtube. comments as i go.

- wtf did you do to charge beamst and is it even remotely possible on a console?

- hahaha spore spawn

- oh i can beat ridley like that

-  long beam path to tourian is quicker? i used to go that way back in the day and i'd lose a second or two.. but then, i wasn't tasing

- your luck manipulation is absolutely ridiculous, i wonder how long it took to do something like tourian

- at.. 24:38 or so, there's a block you could shoot that would probably make it a teeny bit faster. i never bother since it's so touchy and doesn't save much, but it's a tas and all, so i expected it.

everything else looked pretty, er, flawless. good job, pretty much useless to people like me, etc etc.

In response to your points:

- Double shot, highly doubtful on console.

- For quite possibly the hardest boss in this run, it sure got slaughtered.

- You can't get enough missiles into him from overhead like that before he takes off (although it's not that tough to beat him before he takes off if you take damage).

- It's only quicker if you have everything you need to start Tourian. I recharge at the chozo statue that he cuts past.

- At least days, I imagine.

- You get the first cookie! \o/

And to the final line: Yes and no, respectively. People like you are going to try any% normal yet again, Kraid first, this time skipping Hello-Jump. I think even I can manage to get sub-29 in sub-optimal segments. But if you are to play this game again and are just too turned off by the thought of the HBJ of D00M, perhaps you can try another Ridley first run. He found a trick that makes the Brinstar Super tank one of the quickest on the route.
