Ah, now the tools are split between General Tools and Room Tools, and the IPS Patch Applier actually works!  I'll see what else this new version can do.  Also, including the DH Help web document is a big help, I don't need to pull up the Internet anymore.

Edit: When I create the backlayer and save, then close DH and reopen it, the backlayer copies to level layer.  This is not good.
If Phazar there would return from IRC I could upload the bug fix already. -.-
um, is there any way to expand a room? I tried but nothing happens. Unless you cant expand rooms at all :(
...
Also, I accidentally destroyed a Main Deck room when I tried to put in the sprite for the one-side gates, which caused a sprite overload or something.  It looks ok in DH, but if you enter that room in the actual hack, the game crashes.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I added some stuff to the help file to cover new features in DH.

Edit: I just found out that door caps only work with door types of 14 or 54, but I'm too lazy to put up a new file for just one sentence, so it'll stay in this post until inter adds something worth a new section.

This may be a stupid question, but how do you move sprites? (Enemyes, power ups...)
Super Secret Area - Dead Ahead!
If by Power Ups, you mean the expansions, you can simply remove the tile and clipdata, and place them elsewhere by adding the relevant tile and clipdata.
...
To move sprites, check the "Edit Sprites" box to allow movement.  Uncheck it afterwards.
I've been trying to use the background importer, but I must be doing something wrong.  I took a screenshot of a background in the game, made it a 256x256 png, it shows up in DH after I place it, but when I go to play the room it is filled with garbage.  Not sure what I'm doing wrong, it didn't seem to be the palette slot, not sure whether that's saving data or just reading...
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
You need to apply ZMBGi.ips to the ROM you're inserting the background into; inter was supposed to include it with the release, but forgot.

Yeah that was it.  The release came with MFBGi and BGi, I had assumed that BGi was ZM.  It was not.

Edit: Having another problem, I'm in Norfair 5 and the background importer keeps crashing DH...
...
I've been doing some GFX editing recently and a thought came up in my mind: Does Double Helix have a way of importing GFX files like SMILE, or do you just have to edit the tiles within the ROM(the hard way)?  I couldn't find any GFX importer within the current release.
I like Big Butts and I can not lie
I guess it does... Unless I've missed one: Sprites in the sprite editor, Level in the TSA editor, Background in the background importer
Pssshaw

Dh release

OH YEAH TONS OF NEW STUFF
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Ewwww do not download until inter fixes these HORRIBLE PROBLEMS.

All aboard the soul train
Some rooms are glitchy in the Double Helix I downloaded, the docking bay in Fusion comes to mind.
...
Speaking of that, the latest version seems to have removed the Landing Bay's background.  Also, I seem to be missing MFBGi.ips, which I need to import background images.
There is a major bug if you hit the "save" button on door editor.

In the main deck, if you hit it, that will change the value to 56, which will lead you in the room against the space jump boss...
...
I've used Door Editor plenty of times in the Main Deck without this ever happening.  Could you go into more detail?  Because the Door Editor definitely works.
I am sad to say that DH has a limited life span now, I do not know when the next update will occur but I have two more that I know of for sure, please enjoy this release and I am very sorry.

May I ask why Double Helix has a limited life span now??  Is it related to real life problems or don't you feel it's very popular??  Or is it something completely different?? Eh? Think

While I'm posting here, I might as well ask:

For GBA roms, do we have to worry if the rom is headered or not, like we do of SNES roms??  If so, what's the best program for the job??  Also, for non-Super Metroid SNES roms, what's the best program for the job??  Thanks.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

No; all GBA ROMs have a standardized header and will not run without them. For more info, see here.

Since all ROMs have headers specific to themselves, there really is no single program that would be best for handling headers.
...
NOOOOOOOOOOOO!  DH MUST NOT DIE!

I hope this isn't repeating th whole Zero Fission-Double Helix transition.  And I hope that you continue to try to improve DH whenever time is available, if time's the case.

BiggestSchnoz: GBA ROMs do not have headers, there is nothing to fear.  There isn't any total garbage to worry about in hex editors.  As for programs, are you asking about GBA hex editors?  If so, I would recommend Hex Workshop.

Edit: Curse page breaks, uNsane ninjaposted just before me.

Ah, okay, thanks.

Hex editors??  Not sure what those have to do with my question....  Do you mean headers can be added/removed by hex editors somehow??

Anyway, thanks for answering me as to whether or not GBA roms have headers and my SNES rom header questions.
