*sigh* I can't believe I'm asking this... It seems like every %*&@% time Nintendo release a new game nowadays, there's always at least several people who just bash the fuck out of it and it's really pissing me the fuck off. Damnit, this is so fucking annoying.... Well, fortunantely, it souns like the "gang" here likes it, but dangit, I liked Fusion, and if everythings going to get all chicken little around here, I might as well move the fuck out.

I HOPE I picked the wrong topics to start with here.
Thread title:
Not impossible
just highly unlikely
I confess after playing ZM I'm looking back at Fusion with slightly a new light. The positive elements of Fusion (yeah, there are a couple) really contributed to making ZM the best it could be.
This game doesn't suck and I can cite specific proof of that: The fact that ZM is a culmination of all elements of the Metroid series in existence up until its release makes it one of the best.  It's got a part of every Metroid game in it except maybe ROS and if you've got a part of some of the best games ever made in you (considering you're a game and you think), those being MP and Super, you'll automatically kick all sorts of ass.  Besides, if someone else says what you like is shit, who gives a fuck? It's their dumb ass that's missing out.

You gotta brush off the stupid people because biased hatred towards Nintendo and its products will always be around as long as they are so you can either laugh at the idiot who's spewing the anti-Nintendo garbage and walk away knowing you're superior or educate him on the subject 'til he cries about it.

On a related note, Fusion is, contrary to popular belief, NOT a bad game.  I enjoyed it, I've played it at least eight times (some consecutively), I'll play it again, and it rocks.  Every new game in a series cannot raise the bar and anyone who thinks otherwise is a fool.
I love this game.  The ability to play on a higher diffuculty and the puzzles are making it take some time.  What a nice change!

Aahhh... I can feel my stress lifting. Someone slap Thantos for me, will ya?  Laughing
I love ZM and I always liked Fusion. Anyone who says ZM is not  good game needs their head examined.
I dont have the game but I played it at EB Games and anyone who says this game sucks is A-Wall.

agreed with you until the last statement. i personally enjoy fusion as well and will return to my run shortly. i am hardly frothing at the mouth to discover things in zero mission, especially when all i know about the game is that the power grip isn't skippable until the norfair event block is bypassed.
Only about two cons I can think of right now.

That barrier in Norfair.
You can't deselect items.
yeah, I'd also have liked to see switching off items in ZM. Well, I guess that sucks, but the game itself is great
Turning off the Power Grip would have been so incredibly helpful while trying to get that last Energy Tank right before Robo-Ridley.
What I like about Zero Mission is how I finally own a real Metroid GBA game. ;)

EDIT: I also forgot to mention how I'm an idiot because I voted "yes" thinking "yes, this game is awesome".

You forget that ROS introduced Samus being able to crouch, the single most important ability she has had in every game since (sans Prime)
What luck, there's french fry stuck in my beard.
Saying this is a bad game is like saying the sky is not blue.....

Or something like that.
It appears that 3 people have voted yes. They have some serious explaining to do.
I can't believe three people think this game sucks!  Are you sure you weren't thinking of ROS? Laughing

Or perhaps that other GBA classic.
Samus Lauren
I love this game so much! I cant believe anyone would think this is a bad game! I love nearly every aspect of it; the music rocked, the bosses were great, and the Space Pirate Mother Ship pwned so much!

Plus, i owe this game so much right now. Why? Because it has finally showed me the joy of sequence breaking! Never before could i do wall jumping on one side or infinite ball jump, but this game made it soo easy. I could go on and on saying how great this game is! I gonna go play it again! YAY! :D

You mean the port of Superman 64?  :P
I enjoyed the game, I already said in an other thread that it comes near Super, although there are a few thing inferior imho (Music, graphics (I love the fog and underwater atmosphere in Super), general 'feel' in a diffuse way)

Oh, and only because Fusion isnt the best Metroid game, it surely doesnt suck, it had some great elements of its own. But you said already... ;)
the game has its pros and cons, the pros outweigh the cons about a thousand fold, but i really was dissapointed by how small zebes felt... thats my main issue with the game, unlike Super Metroid, or regular metroid, zebes felt tiny perhaps it was just the way the  items were positioned, or the cool secret area's, but.. the game just felt tiny, not vast, super metroid and metroid 2 felt large, huge, this game was just missing it.
i really think it has something to do with the multitude of upgrades.

the gameplay, however, is the best of any metroid.  yet, it was lacking a few things that bring the game from the realm of "awesome" to the realm of "amazing" R&D1 is getting the idea, and the next metroid game they put out will probably be near perfect.

The (major) bosses were pathetic as well,  except for mother brain... kraid and ridley were very...pathetic, as was the "final" boss, i don't konw what the hell the point of that thing was.. just a waste of super missiles. =/

The stealth part was *VERY* enjoyable, it wasn't really difficult, but it was cool.  I LOVED the space pirate AI, that stuff was what space pirates should have had all around, i just wish they were in more of the game, once you could actually fight the things they died in one hit. =/

anyway, i did enjoy the hell ot of the game, i wish you could turn of certain upgrades at time (ice, screw attack, etc.) and that there were more powerbombs/missiles hidden away (not major) but, overall, it was an insanely enjoyable game.
I'll actually right a real review of it sometime, i gotta do that..

probably around a 92/100 for me
I('d) like to watch (some MP3 runs)
Lol I thought flickerbat was a random word Yoshi made up.

Heh. Yeah, that's our censor, it replaces words with other words, and they chose metroid words to use as the censor. It even catches words within words, so you may have trouble talking about sh*ttaki mushrooms.

Thing is, tho, the f-word wasn't always flickerbat. I remember the conversation in #metroid where we realized that would be a good replacement.
What does 'flickerbat' mean actually?  Embarassed
