The Hacks/Fan Games board will NEVER be locked.  Locking an entire board has never happened in the history of this site.  I am starting to like that board nearly as much as you, now that I am having fun level-editing Fusion with Double Helix.
Seems like the Hacks/Fan Games board is the entire forum at this point.

Yes it would nearly "kill" the forum and this have been my point about the locked threads also. If a big majority like a specific subject it can result in less users. I hope you not refer hacking discussions to the social topic further on. PS I don't want to bring up the religion/politics discussion once more

I still read that thread occasionally, just for a laugh or two.  But I have to admit that the mods' discussion at the end was unnecessary, seeing as the thread was locked.

Is it your own post you're laughing or just the the fact that the discussion didn't lead anywhere? Or maybe the privet bullshit lounge after it was locked?
...
It's more like the entire topic, especially DJ Grenola's Titanic jokes on the topic.

I can't see the funny in contributing to the bullshit that made the thread locked. THAT is contra productive and usually ends up with a warning if you're a regular user. It seems they want some threads to be locked and contribute as much as the can in some cases. Right or wrong? I don't know

Removing our most popular board is not the same thing as locking some guy's topic. Furthermore, are the rest of your posts simply gonna consist of reminders that one thread got flooded after locking? -_-

At this point, if it's gonna make you decide to leave the forums, I support your decision entirely. I don't visit the hacks board myself, so the majority of the posts I've seen from you have been just to complain about your thread. I do my best to accept your feedback, but if you're just gonna spam about it endlessly and go on and on about moderators sucking at their jobs, then eventually, an admin is going to have to do his job.

Actually the most of my posts are in Hacks/fangames and my complains/arguments is only a few percent of them. BUT like I said before your lastest replies clearyfied my questions and I'm greatful to that and just the existens of that thread/board means a lot to me...Think you should know that also and some more of them too when there's some action in them. Everything is just not bad and don't be angry because I have opinions or criticism. In general I like your work but opinions of others will never hurt...in some cases they can help. Like Opium said somewhere "there are more locked threads here than in other forums and we're not used to it" but now we have anwsers enough. PS Don't see me as some (insert bad word) stalker. This is a very nice forum after all and I hope we can talk as grown up people further on also.
edit: two more things that I like is that you have admins from different countries and that you actually reply to questions asked. That's something that's better here. Maybe I can help to get some new swedish gamers to the forum though I am a member of a swedish video game forum and there are a lot that is interested in metroid. Only one problem. Linking to other forums is not allowed but with some amount of conent it may be. Maybe the www.metroid2002.com is ok and they find the forum theirselves? Where can we discuss this if not here?

It's not too bad to mention a forum address, it's just bothersome to see topics just to advertise. Also, if you feel the need to advertise more publicly, you can add a link in your signature. Near the top of the page is the Profile button, and on the left side of that page is Forum Profile Information. There's a certain character limit, but almost nobody reaches it. Also, if you're going to put an image in your signature, there are limits on its size. The limit for images is 500x150 pixels.

Now I'm a little bit confused....I want to advertise this forum for them not vice versa...maybe it's only my english that's bad.

Oh, oops. Do they not have signatures on their forum or something? If they ask about metroid glitches and tricks, they shouldn't have a problem if you link them to a related video on our site. If there rules are anything like ours, using appropriate links to help people should be just fine.

Yes that's what I thought also...If they ask first. And signatures we have but isn't  it the same as posting the link in a thread? Asking beacause you're admin and they certainly would have the same rules
One shall stand, one shall ball.
Advertising in your sig is fine here, and in most places I've seen. It's not disruptive or annoying like posting an advertising topic can be.

so if I have "forum.metroid2002.com" in my signature you think it should be no problem. If not I change immediatly
edit: I will send a pm to admins and see what thay say
...
I have a link to this site in my sig on another forum, so that's the easiest way to do it, like Jagger said.  I also listed a link to the MPH section I helped make for this site as my website in my profile on that forum.

It would be great to get this site/forum's address out to anyone possible.

I'm waiting for answers...maybe one whole gaming forum can take part of it. Just emailed the admins
Sorry for the bump but i think this have some importance. Shouldn't we have a thread about this like "advertise the forum"? I think users than me hang out in other gaming forums. Not spamming but like some said before there are other ways to do it and this can contribute a lot in my opinion. The best thing is that we are from many different countries and that makes it more attractive in one way and we have a wider area to explore(maybe this isn't the right word).

...that was just 35 minutes, and definitely NOT warranting a double post.

Also: No. <-- answer based on nothing.

Right, but a topic about doing such is unnecessary. If people like the site, they'll tell their friends, simple as that.

Yes but my friends don't like metroid but in this forum someone do and I don't know who actually just that metroid is discussed and the metroid sr 388 was up on the site once. The only common we have is that we lika video games an especially metroid. In forums like here it's not allowed to link to other forums but with your(read admins) help we can discuss the best way(s) to do it. I think that the rules we have here are common for most forums and you know the rules best. This discussion we had just know don't reach every member here. If some one of you start a thread it would be great.
edit: actually I know(their nicks) some people that like metroid it's just that I don't talk to them very much
edit2: and I think I'm not the only one that have friends that dislike metroid
...
To tell you the truth, this forum has a lot of members compared to another Metroid forum I post on, when sometimes I'm the only one active on a certain day.
