You can talk about things other than Metroid, if you've payed any attention at all you'd know this.
Topics get locked when they get out of hand, it's not hard to understand. If you want intelligent political conversation, the internet (let alone a Metroid forum) is not the best place to find it. If you were here three or four years ago it'd have gone a lot better.

Actually...does someone know what I mean at all? I thought i spoke clearly
One shall stand, one shall ball.
I see what you're saying, you're just wrong. Letting bad topics continue just because some one one day might add something useful isn't going to make much difference in the long run.

We aren't in the business of drawing in new people to discuss politics, if they are the kind of people we actually want or need it'll be because of the Metroid aspects, not because of politics or whatever other pointless subject may be be under discussion on the Boardwalk.

You seem to be missing the part where Metroid comes first here.
Shifty Leader
That M2k2 guy
You do realize it's possible to be a member of more than one forum, right?

And it's not that the discussion is not related to Metroid, it's just that, like tombob said, threads get out of hand, and people have left the forum because every time they sign on, they keep seeing those kinds of posts. I can understand if a topic that got locked actually had a discussion for people to join, but that just had bickering to push people out. As you can see, preventing these kinds of things can actually help us KEEP the cool people that sign up. If more people sign up and a lot of people just plain fail, can you honestly tell me that makes for a better community? If so, I'm glad you're not in charge around here.

Your first comment: So you think locking threads resulting in multiple threads creontaining the same sabject is better? I think this is better: One thread and new members or someone who read the thread first time can see/read what have been said before.

Second: I see many more pointless subjets in boardwalk than politics(this is just an example if you didn't noticed). Actually this is just to let people discuss and it don't have to be intellectual or contain a specific subjekt. The discussions can lead to something more interesting and that's my point..If the discussion go far from the topic I agree with you

While what you say has merit, the fact remains that it was the users themselves that got that topic locked, not the staff here.  Had everybody chipped in with valid points that were well presented, the topic would not have been locked.  Because it degenerated into a slanging match, it was locked.

1. One topic that is full of shit posts is in no way beneficial to anything. Ever.
2. Politics is the most useless of all subjects, it never goes anywhere and is never interesting or entertaining.
3. For just general discussion, you want the social topic. That thing probably won't get locked ever.

Also this:

If that's true(politics not intersting) how come so many threads, reagarding the subject, created?
Super Secret Area - Dead Ahead!
Just because lots of threads have been created for it doesn't mean that it's an 'interesting' topic.  It simply means that lots of people have an opinion on it.  Interesting would mean that it's a worthwhile read that a lot of people would probably enjoy taking part in.  Politics, just like there being various parties involved in the running, has everyone divided, which leads not to people actually discussing politics in itself, but people trying to convince others that they are wrong.  This in turn always leads to an argument, which results in the topic being locked.

Lastly, your opinion on topics being locked has been noted, but the staff have stated their position on it.  I would suggest that you let it lie.

Though I not like it I will....I just don't want to be a pain in the ass anymore

Edit: Or, to annoy Kennyman, I could use one this instead:
[picture]

The picture is hosted on my Dreamhost, and I have unlimited bandwidth there nowadays. So I wouldn't care.

I will not, however, allow you to use it unless you can identify from where the picture is taken by yourself. Because if you cannot, you are not cool enough to be allowed to use it.

Also, Folkskygg... STOP USING "YOUR" WHEN YOU MEAN "YOU ARE" FOR FUCK'S SAKE

Is You're OK? because that was what I wanted to write. And my English is not the very best so....
Super Secret Area - Dead Ahead!
Yes, that's correct.  I think you made the error just once on the last page, but KennyMan666 dislikes the error.  A lot.

Yeah, I probably should have said "when you mean you're", since that's the mistake that really grinds my gears.

It must be very important so I'll not make that mistake again. You'll never know what a missing apostrophe can result in :(
edit: I edited this post 3 times to get the spelling right
Super Secret Area - Dead Ahead!
I can honestly say that I never really understood the difficulty in differentiation, but maybe it's because of alterations through accent or dialect.  I pronounce 'your' as 'yore'; and 'you're' as if it were 'yewer', primarily because the contraction originates from 'you', which has the 'oo' sound.

That's probably why English is considered hard to learn, with so many annoying nuances, coupled with the fact that there isn't really one set English language any more.  What I mean is that Australians, Americans, the English are all supposedly speaking the same language, but we clearly don't.  That's not to mention slang...  Rolling Eyes

It was not about that just only me being lazy not check my writing before posting. It's usual behavior and this is hopefully not a grammar school. Hope you guys and girls understand me anyways

I was not picking at anything you said, it was a general comment about grammar and punctuation, and was more in response to KennyMan666's gear-grinding comment. Relax, young one.  Wink

Haha I think you're(I spelled it right) the young one here...I'm 28
edit: Sorry OT
Super Secret Area - Dead Ahead!
It's a colloquial phrase, adapted from a film quote, and implies nothing of actual age.  Wink It's usually 'Patience, young one', but I don't know what it's from.  (I'm the same age as you, by the way Razz)  Since we're not discussing the rules, we should probably decist.
Don't wanna spoil the fun, but please continue this in the social topic or via private messaging.

We honestly need some rule like "ignore kennymans grammar flames".
One shall stand, one shall ball.
But those are half the fun these days. :(

I'm pretty sure it's from Star Wars.

Nah, they used to be funny quite some time ago, but I think it's already getting overboard. Especially when people start getting hardcore-OT, or even start private chit chat, in the topic about rules.

Strangely, though, I haven't seen him glare at anyone in a while.
