I know it isn't the greatest plot ever but it does go over some things.

It certainly explains how Ridley can keep returning, for all those times we "killed" him.

Then there's the seeming plot holes where Samus seems to have forgotten Admiral Dane, and somehow has amnesia in Fusion over the GF's activities in Other M.
Thread title:
I thought it was weird how similar the story is to Fusion.  I also want to know what happened to K.G.  Unless I totally missed something he was the Deleter and I'm guessing he is the one that attacked Adam.  I find it a little odd that a plot point like this was kind of skipped over as the story advanced.  The character screen says he is MIA and leads you to believe he is still on the Bottle Ship.  The character screen also says MB is dead.  I watched her get “shot” and I didn’t see anything that would be fatal to a human, much less an android.  I kind of wonder if the GF troops at the end were being controlled by MB.  Anthony did comment that they arrived quickly, but was also being sarcastic.

All this makes me think that there might be a super secret third ending.  At first I thought that as the Bottle Ship was exploding, you would be able to run into a certain room and trigger this theoretical ending, as in Super Metroid.  But I played the self destruct sequence a few times and all optional doors are locked.  Now I am curious if I missed some Power Bomb dudes somewhere or something.  I can’t get over the fact that there are so many locked doors at the end game.  You can’t get into the Queen Metroid lair or a big room in Sector 1 on the right side of the map.  Who knows, maybe there is a 101% completion.
afaik James was the deleter... KG is the guy who gets killed and his body tossed into the lava, which explains the MIA status.

going by who was alive and dead at that point, the guy who was tossed to the lava had to be K.G. and the deleter was James. K.G. appears as "missing" because no one outside the deleter saw him die, so for everyone else, he's still roaming somewhere but he's actually dust within the lava.
Lyle was the first one to die and then the computer guy and then James shows up leading you to the research lab. we know Adam and Anthony weren't because Adam was monitoring Samus all the way up to Ridley's fight and Anthony was carrying that huge plasma rifle and he's also bigger than anyone else.

(haven't played second ending)

I forgot about the guy who was kicked into the Lava.
Guess it was James. I was hell bent on it being KG.

And this game has MASSIVE throwbacks to Fusion. Damn near all the areas and some plot is stolen from it.
Biosphere -> SRX/TRO
Pyrosphere -> PYR
Sector 2 -> ARC
Nightmare's place -> NOC
I forget where -> AQA

Sector 0 gets jettisoned much like Restricted Zone.

Anyways, I noticed that no bullets passed through MB as well.

And we don't really know what happened to MB. Those Federation soldiers at the end MUST have been part of the group that went forward with the Metroid Army plan. So it's no grand leap of faith that MB wasn't killed and those guys took her for a sequel.

the guy that gets tossed in the lava can't be James. you see him alive later and then dead.
I admit that I really got confused about the whole plot and much of it didn't really make sense to me. I'm not saying that it was nonsensical, but I;m just retarded. Is theatre mode basically a recap that might help me understand it?

Also, what exactly is the 'Other M' anyways?  Is it Melissa?

There were so many parts where that could apply...

Other Mother Brain
Other Metroids
...

Just pick the one you like the most.

any of you guys discovered how to open the locked room in the biolab?

there is a locked door in the room with ridley corpse that don't open, even after finishing the game with 100%
it remembers me of the door in the end of resident evil 3, that "needed" a key that didn't existed...

the only room that remains locked is the room where the queen was kept. that room is just metroid eggs cracked since you pass through it after killing the queen.

theater mode lets you watch all the cutscenes individually or all in 1 go.
Not impossible
just highly unlikely
Okay, so I finished all the way to the 'real' ending to be sure before bitching about this, but I would have been justified anyway.

The Deleter subplot was utter bullshit. There was no purpose for it. Whoever the Deleter is, probably James, is killed offscreen and only kills people that have two lines or less anyway. Therr's absolutely no resolution and barely any effect on Samus. Was the point to make us suspect Adam or something? They could have removed the Deleater bullshit, had everyone be killed by creatures on the ship, and the plot would not have changed in the slightest.

Complete waste of time subplot in a story that is, in itself a waste of time.
What I'm wondering is about the supposed cold resistant metroids.  For as big a deal as that would be, there's awfully little about them.  They're never seen on screen.  It's quite possible that it was all just a lie, and Adam is faking his death for unknown reasons.  If they did in fact exist, you'd think they'd inject Samus with that DNA instead in Fusion to remove the crippling weakness to cold.  Or that, because they didn't, Samus would at least ask them why, if they're keeping one set of Metroid DNA, why they didn't keep around the cold proof set too.

that was the point of the Deleter subplot Tooz.

And the anti-freeze metroids were a top secret and illegal creation. The vaccine they use on her in Fusion is from the baby which they gathered back at the start of Super. The "legal" investigation of it really.

the only Ice-Resistant Metroids died here without even fighting.

i agree that the deleter subplot ended up being unnecesary seeing how it ended. it was interesting at the start and i thought you'd confront the guy later and he'd do a speech or something but then he dies off-screen. i even forgot about it until i was doing the cleanup and checked the status of all the people on board. when i noticed the missing guy is when i remembered the whole stuff with the deleter.
I was thinking about something concerning Ridley and the cutscene before his battle: Yes, Samus had defeated him many times before, but up until Super, there was always a way to recover his body right? The only time there isn't a possibility for the pirates to do so (or else there's a much smaller window of opportunity than normal) would be Super because Zebes is destroyed shortly after Samus encounters him in Norfair. In all of the other battles, the planet/area is still intact afterward, isn't it? So perhaps Samus had finally let down her guard in assuming that there was no way for Ridley to return again now that his body was completely vaporized by Zebes' destruction.

Right? Looking at his appearances in the series leading up to Other M:

Metroid/ZM: Zebes and Norfair are still intact
Prime: Tallon IV and the Impact Crater itself are still intact (or at least the area where he falls)
Corruption: Norion and the Pirate Homeworld are still intact (would explain how he comes back again in the same game)
Super: Zebes is destroyed
Other M

Not the best evidence to support her reaction to his return in Other M, but it's the best I can think of right now.

Here's a question though... Where did his body come from in Fusion?

He was Metroid'ed to death in Other M.
I think that the freeze-resistant metroids didn't exist.  Adam just made that part up so that Samus wouldn't insist on going in there and fighting them.

as i think there will be a sequel, we will see adamn again... and them propably he will sacrifice himself for her

cuz, in other M, he did't really saved her...

and we need to count the fact that samus saw the entire evolution of ridley, when she connected all the pieces of the puzzle and understood that little creature she didn't kill was ridley, well, i would be pretty shocked...

I thought the implication was that Fed researchers took his life-drained husk to BSL and put it in Sub-Zero containment just in case he managed to cheat death again.

I think you're probably right.  The whole scene of his death really didn't confirm that he really died.  They didn't even show sector zero exploding, for crissakes.

That was my thought. After the MB confrontation, his body is missing from where you find it.

i didn't noticed that...

So is Nightmare's.

Can't think of any other bosses that leave their bodies though, to check. Cause both those guys reappear
Other thing with Nightmare is the fact that he was created by the Federation anyway, so it's not like it would've been hard for them to construct another one. But yeah, I remember seeing that too.

the thing that still makes the husk useless is that, wouldn't it just crumble like the dead troopers and pirates in mp3?

what i think is that the federation saw potential in him as a bio-weapon and cloned him again but this time, they took the necessary measuers to prevent what happened in Other M. it was stated that they didn't see any potential as a bio-weapon in his baby state but now that everything that happened is documented, he's useful.

also, Omega Ridley completely exploded in the seed battle in mp3 and the seeds themselves exploded after the battles and he was completely corrupted anyway so there's no way for him to return to his former state. him coming back in the same game is easy because he just falls down after being defeated in the first battle. i say that the pirates cloned him and samus expected that because he was one of the main commanders of the pirates, so it makes sense they would keep his DNA around. him being cloned by the feds was totally out of left fiend since they didn't even know what he was.

now, if we consider the recent retcon of the prime triology, Ridley's first cloning was in Other M because his body could survive from ZM and get well for Super.
