Defeating Emperor Ing on Hypermode

I've only defeated Emperor Ing on Hypermode once, and it took many tries. I can get through his first two forms just fine, it's the final phase that gets me. Any tips, tricks, strategies to help me? Are there any special tips on how to hit him with screw attack?

I think annihilator beam is a must from start to finish on that phase. I also run out quickly on that phase because I use some of it on the first phase on the tentacles. I can't give a proper strategy but I'd say make the most of those occasions when the emperor fires those weird particles and get as much beam ammo as possible. Then begin with the annihilator barrage, run out, farm some more ammo and so on.

I suck with the screw attack method

So you use annihilator ammo on all three of the colors (orange, purple, and white) of his mouth?

I usually use my annihilator to take out the tentacles in his first phase, then switch to seekers if I run out of ammo, refilling it later with those weird particles you spoke of.

Also, do power bombs do anything to his third phase?

I think I use 2 super missiles on the default orange mouth to get the emperor to either specific color, then I use annihilator beam to rid him of that color and get him to orange again. its rate of fire and damage, not to mention the homing ability make it by far the best weapon

well I think you can even use power beam on those particles and still get beam ammo back. So I think actually running out completely of ammo is not such a bad idea because there's a slightly bigger chance of getting some dark and/or light ammo back in return.

I have no idea what power bombs do to him

Power Bombs are for the second phase. The simplest way to do it in Trilogy is Super Missile his "Neutral" form until he changes color, then use Annihilator until he reverts - then repeat until he's dead. He's still a royal pain in the neck (pun intended), but that's going to be true no matter how you fight him.

Easily the hardest fight when playing on Hypermode.

Yea I use power bombs on 2nd phase too, but I don't know what they do on final phase. They might be really useful actually. In the same way that PB on omega Pirate on Prime 1 was a lifesaver for hypermode.

Well I'm gonna try the annihilator beam on the white and purple phases, and I think I will shove a power bomb or two up his ass just to see what happens.

LOL well I pwned Emperor Ing using the annihilator beam method but got my ass kicked by DS. Strafing to avoid his phazon-ball attack doesn't seem to work in hypermode, since every single one of them caused major damage no matter how far away I was. Hmmph. Too pissed off to try again right now. I've never been killed by DS before, so I never thought about how you had to do the whole emperor Ing fight all over again if it happens. Dammit.

You don't have to. There's a checkpoint after Emperor Ing.

Also, it's easier to dodge Dark Samus' attacks from close up, rather than far away.

Fuck Fuck and double-fuck. I cooled off and tried again from the Emperor Ing fight and pwned both Emperor Ing and DS. I was just pissed. Much better now.

Personally I stuck with missiles for the tentacles and saved the annihilator for the white and black phases, using supers for yellow. Seemed to work out alright.

Granted I was killed by EI about four times and DS once, so maybe not.
