I like Big Butts and I can not lie

Just use this simple Codebreaker cheat
Code:
730016C4 0080
83000BF0 0006

Just go into your inventory screen and press "Select" to turn each item on or off (just like Super Metroid)
Thread title:
I still don't get why Nintendo would remove it. This proves it's in the game's coding, meaning Nintendo intended to add it at some point. What reason could they possibly have for abandoning it?

Because they hate you. (Nothing personal.)

I bet that's kinda hard not to take personally. :P

That would've been awesome thing in ZM. Too bad it's not there on the cartridge.

I think pj means it IS there, it's just not accessable through normal means.

It's in the cartridge (otherwise it wouldn't be in the ROM), but you need to use Codebreaker to use it (Codebreaker modifys what happens in the RAM, in this case whether or not you use the debug menu)

Edit: I'm editing all my really big useless posts into this so you don't waste your time reading them. If I should just leave them how they are then tell me and I'll stop editing them, but I think it would be better to not waste room on the page and stop if someone tells me to, than leaving them here to be annoying.

Open vba
Cheats - Cheat List...
CodeBreaker...
Type some description and type the code
Make sure the boxes are checked
It should look like this

Make sure Disable Cheats in the cheats menu is NOT checked

After that, just go into the map and press R into the inventory screen where you can press "Select" to turn abilities on/off (abilities not suits or unknown items)

NOTE: If you load a save state when you hadn't the cheats, the cheats WILL be deleted

Metroid Exp: Exploration - Great, Skills - Decent
Too bad you cant make it so you can play the whole game as Suitless Samus
PAGE BREAKER
Ready and willing.
They probably didn't code it to allow you to only turn on items you have already. It probably just takes away and gives your items wholesale.
A good name would be Super Metroid Menu cheat.

I like to call it the Debug Menu, but that's just me. And pj.
Something with Super Metroid in the title would fit better. Debug menu could mean anything. For example, on Goldeneye 64, there was a debug menu that allowed you to see the values of the game's coding.

Oh yeah, the Super Metroid Debug menu from Goldeneye is great!

At this point, I'm almost thinking of calling it the Zero Mission Super Metroid Debug Menu. Rolling Eyes Isn't Item Toggle Menu a better name than "omg this has to be named after the greatest game evar!!!"?
You only said "DEBUG MENU", when did Super Metroid get added to that? Also, Super Metroid is more fitting because it's the only Metroid game that has an item toggle menu in its final release.

I kinda like the sound of ITM. Kind of sounds like Item.
How about, instead of menu, it's mode? Item Toggle Mode?

Thinking about it, I kinda like the name Jason. Anyone else think Jason is a good name?
Or how about Reggie/Kickass mode?

I think they will have more intrest when they see the word Debug Menu.
They will understand as soon as they see the picture
How about we don't need a damn title for a simple codebreaker cheat?
PAGE BREAKER
Ready and willing.
Well yeah you do to identify it on a list of codebreaker cheats.
