Lately I went back to my MZM only to find out that once again my data was gone, 4th time. I thought it was from a dirty cartridge but that same day i started over with a new file, saved it, and moments later turned on the game to find the game had no recorded data. I dont know whats the cause of this but it wont let me have any data on my game. It pretty much wipes it clean of any saved game. A friend told me he read something about this glitch and how to get rid of it but he doesnt remember. Am I the only one who has this glitch? Let me know what you guys think and if you know any way of saving my copy of MZM otherwise I'm buying a new copy.
Thread title:
The battery on your cart is probably running low, thhough I can't see why, as that usually only happens to very old games.

or you got a faulty battery. that happens.
I like Big Butts and I can not lie
Try loading up a different game, if it doesn't save then it's your internal battery, which is no biggie if you have those tri-blade screw drivers
Armor Guardian
Perhaps your copy is a cheap bootleg.
I believe something similar happened to me. My game wasn't too old, but one day the data was all gone. I tried it again a few hours later, and everything was there again.
So the internal battery might be the cause? Hmmm that makes sense. Thanks guys I'll try fixing my game. If not, oh well.
This is probably not related, but I have a friend who has this game, and often when they turn the game on, all data is gone.  When they turn it off and then on again, all the data is back.

that is weirder imo

something involving bad backup saves happend to me in Mario Kart 64  several years ago.
one day, i put the game and when it reached the title screen, it was the old one (as if my data was gone) but then there was something different: all the course records were 0'00"00 in every track. it was really weird to see that but i assumed my game was erased so i played GP mode and got a cup and then switched off.
next time i switched on, the title screen was still the old one but my times were back :O. it was really weird to see that. my GP cups were gone so i had to redo them but the funny thing is that i managed to get back the old title screen without erasing my cart through a glitch.
it repeated much later but i already knew what was going on. scared me for a second until i glanced at my records.
