I know im not the only one but does anyone else think there should have been a ridley for this game?

Ide really love it if there was, like meta ridley/dark ridley/omega ridley... It all fits together and they all match with the games. So tell me, do you think there should have been a dark ridley?
Thread title:
You forgot Ridley X.
Ridley X was dark? I mean like ridley infused with the ing...maybe emperor ing? (The ultimate fusion)

i don't know but ridley in 3D lacks something from the 2D version. i find the 2d version matches more entertaining.

in a way it is good that he wasn't used in mp2 because that would have been overkill. although he could have been a neat boss that you could find midway into the key collection (the game needed more interesting things in that part)
What about Mecha Ridley?  Just make him harder. :P

hm, play hard mode low% or 100% for a hard mecha ridley.
I can't unlock hard mode...  Embarassed
I mean, it won't work.  I beat normal...
Personally I think Kraid should have been in Prime 2. They had his model done for Prime 1 and even used it SSBM. Dark Kraid would kick all kinds of ass :)  Of course, you'd need to ride a platform up just to even see his face. I have a feeling that 3D itself is one reason we never got a Kraid battle -- the whole platforming thing just doesn't work as well.
Or you could just enter the room at his neck level, and fight him like in ZM.

He has a neck?
Mister ...
I think with the appearance of Ridley in both Metroid Prime 1 and Prime 3 Corruption that it's kind of obvious why he wasn't in Echoes. In fact, I think Echoes and RoS are the only Metroids that Ridley doesn't appear in. Kraid would have been more likely since he's only appeared in 3 Metroids [Metroid/Zero Mission, Super Metroid]. Chances are though, because of the whole platforming thing to get up to Kraid's level is probably why he was never thrown into Prime.  Would have made for one hell of a fight though.
red chamber dream
Kraid would have made Echoze a lot better imo. Ridley wasn't really necessary, so I was happy they left him out.
Oh my god...

I just imagined Kraid trying to squeeze into a save room or something in Echoes then bursting, and sending skrees and blood and guts everywhere...yuck... :-&
Mister ...
I think another good reason why Ridley wasn't in Echoes is because it would've been too repetitive ...
oh, wait a minute ... That's the one thing Metroid is good for  Rolling Eyes
Metroids Are Jerks
If you think about it story-wise it just doesn't make any sense for there to be a Space Pirate general on Aether.  The pirates could hardly secure their base, and had problems like crazy with the Ing... it just wasn't safe enough for a higher ranking pirate.  But more non-Ing related bosses would have been nice... the game was a bit dry after a while.
Stuffs. Yar.
On the other hand, if they were trying to protect a dangerous base, who better to send than their (supposedly) best fighter? And since when is keeping/breeding metroids safe, anyway? :P

i think there was a scan that said the group sent to aether was a secondary group and not one of their mian invading squads.
they were there to get phazon mostly and breed some metroids on the way.
Annoying
Incase you forgot, Meta Ridley was "destroyed" in Prime anyway.

dark kraid would make me run for my life.  and continue running for a long time.  especially because a 3d kraid would be freaking terrifying!
Anywhere, everywhere

lolwut, he appears 4 more times later in the series' chronology and "dies" 3 times (4 if you count frozen ridley), plus he gets infected by a parasite, creating a clone.

i count seven deaths... m, sm, prime, 2x later, fusion, mzm (different from m)

I said after mp2's chronology. Read posts closer.
Hated by all
Having a Dark Kraid would be sick. However, the 3-D and sprite designers would consider that to overload the disc data and slow it down. We would seriously have a Kraid for Metroid Prime 3 happen if the Wii was able to go Blu-Ray. I mean seriously, Blu-Ray holds a lot more data than conventional DVD's.

RAM would be a roadblock before the disk itself definitely.

also, Quadraxis was massive and the game never dips below 60 fps in that fight. he also had a lot more mobile parts than what kraid would have (unless they go berserk and animate every muscle)

i dont know, quadraxis wasnt THAT big.  they only needed general movements for the legs.  then after the first round they were scenery instead of needing any movement data.  the memory for that shouldnt be too large.  the head though is a different story...
as for prime three getting a kraid, doubt it.  they were going to add it to prime, but didnt, then nothing for echoes, and nowhere for kraid in corruption

maybe they just couldn't make him work in 3D, like some of the power-ups that never made it to the prime games?
