Anyone play any DDR simulators? I specifically had DWI in mind... Just a few minutes ago, I came to the conclusion that making stepfiles for DWI is a hell lot of fun.

I'll definitely be making some steps to my own home-mixed music more often now!

DWI? Got any links?
Driving While Intoxicated, obviously.
Isn't it DUI?

Anyways, back on topic.  I heard of Step-Mania.  Kinda like DDR and you could buy a pad and stuff.  I don't know how good it is or where to get it but I remember reading about it somewhere

It's called a DUI everywhere I've seen. Maybe it's some wierd regional thing. From Texas.
I('d) like to watch (some MP3 runs)
Bah I thought Dragon Warrior 1.  :(

*expects to get a link to a DW music video in flash or something*

Something about stepmania

This is what you're looking for.

It's called stepmania and I have it. It is an awesome game.

Anyway DWI stands for Dance With Intensity, which, iirc, was an older type of the same game. Stepmania is able to use the DWI's (files) as stepcharts for their songs, and since Stepmania has a lot of newer and better features, it has kind of replaced it.
I was about to mention that Stepmania is superior to DWI, but i don't play either, DDR without a pad just seems like a waste to me. (I'm too lazy to get a pad setup for my computer.. yet)

Wow... I sure am getting the run around trying to find one stinkin' song to play, with all the dead links and stuff.  Crying or Very sad
Its actually called Dance With Intensity. I've played it so much, and it made me not want to spend money at the arcade. Its that good for me.

Thanks. Now my little finger-man can dance to his heart's content.

(You should see me when I actually play... I can make it through most light courses, but I'm totally winded afterwards.)
Oooo, you should make a video.

*imagines yoshi's finger-man getting tired after a few light songs.

Or are you talking about yourself getting tired?

Myself, when I'm playing at an arcade with a pad. I'm not THAT pathetic... ;)

Nerds are sexy.
I have some stepfiles for FF7 boss music and part of some for The Landing (FF8).

Then I made a few for other songs...

The Hell Song.

And some song that I love but have no idea what it's called.

Meh, FF. Figures. ;v_v
Hey, if you give me the mp3's of the music you want steps for, I be able to make them.

You could even tell me what difficulties you want them on. Such as an 8 step heavy, or a 12 step heavy or whatever. Or just whatever I feel is best.

Yikes, I didn't even know there was a 12 step difficulty. Anyway, I'd probably get better results if I don't constrain your difficulty. As for songs, it's really more me wanting songs from games I've played... I have the songs from ZM and a few Mario songs on my hard drive, but they're not all suitable for stepfiles... many of the ZM ones are really really short. I'll look through them, and see if I can get some more variety in games, then get back to you. Or maybe just send one for now... might wait till tommorow though.

EDIT: You'd be okay with me e-mailing you a zip, right?
You can e-mail them to me.

And about that 12 step thing. You can make it as hard as you want really. You could turn the song into something flying at 1258 BPM and have a step on every 1/64 note. Even though everyone would fail in 0.7 seconds.

I just brought that up because I recently did a song that I decided should be a 13 step Challenge difficulty. It has 1500 (or 1600) steps in it. It's only a 3 minute song too. Really hard to pass. Then heavy is a 10 step with 1100 steps.

If anyone wants, I'd like to send this file to other people. Just PM me you e-mail address or AIM screen name, and I'll send it when I get done with Standard, Light, and Beginner. It might take awhile because I've got a lot of stuff to do this week.
