Recently I had a pretty crazy idea. I would like to convert my old Nintendo system so it will load cartridges from the top. I'm not sure if such a conversion would work but I would like to try. My biggest problem is that motherboard. So, before I even think about opening up that giant toaster I need to study some blueprints of the system. But I can't find any.
So, any help would be greatly appreciated.[/b]

Step 1: Buy a Famicom
OK, so I know it sounds crazy. But I think I can do it. It would give me something to do with my freetime.
Could someone supply me with some blueprints please?
All I can say is good luck and don't screw up. It would be kind of hard to find another NES.
You can also convert it into a fully functional PC.
why don't you just buy a NES model 2?

I never knew about that.

I think that came out either right before or right after SNES. Not very common, in any case. That controler is a huge improvement though.
This is cooler

thats what i was talking about. I think ill try that after i get a couple hundred dollars...

I didn't know about this. Awesome!

Well after opening up my NES for a second time I realized the conversion would be pretty difficult. I could do it but it would be a lot of work.
So, maybe sometime soon I'll start on making a Portable one.
I've seen insane mods

you'd be surprised at the things I've seen ;)

that site may be out of date, regardless, you don't have Master Quest yet?  O.o

wow, tis a shame, that stuff was much much harder than the original OOT.  I'm sure you could find the MQ disk on ebay or something.

It is very out of date. But that DD Zelda was just Ura Zelda? Well, I have that from the WW promo. Funny thing, though, I've just never gotten around to playing it. I just can't stand the thought of fighting more of those horrible floormasters. *shiver*

In most of my OoT replays, I just played up to the Shadow Temple and then started a new game. That temple was just too freaky for me. I ended up liking water and spirit a lot, though. And Fire was just nice. But the crazy fan rooms with the hover boot puzzles were enough to make me never want to peek inside Shadow again.
I have the NES-2 because our original one broke when someone stepped on it. I remember seeing the SNES-2 in stores, and I think when I buy a new one (for when I move out) I'm going to try to find the SNES-2 because it looks really cool.

I have the SNES-2... I actually prefer the first one instead.  2 has no on/off light and no eject button... it saddens me.
I always thought the eject was kinda corny... I dunno if I'd get those systems, as cool as the games are, they seem to be re-releasing all the good ones again... Can't wait for the other DKCs or MMXs and SM

Yeah... yeah... I was tired when I wrote that... lol.  It's more along the fact that I prefer the 'original' of everything.  Like Playstation games and players choice... I worked hard to get all of my games non-players choice.  Same thing with the systems (if they have multiple styles... PS1, NES, SNES, etc.)

Well I sure did.  Well....... the on light that is.
