By now most of you have already been to metroid.com and have looked around the MP2E site and have found everything 100%... We all also got a great look at the Light Suit which looks so damn sexy.
First, here's a picture... (contains spoilers, duh)
I noticed something while catching a glimpse of it in the video footage the official site provided of the Light Suit. Look at Samus's arm cannon... what beam is it set on? It's not the light beam and it's not the dark beam. At first I thought it was the Annihilator beam but it looks too inconsistent with what we've seen of the Annihilator in video footage on the net. The Annihilator beam has black with white beams of light flowing through it, it is long but it has absolutely no purple in it. So then I thought, well maybe that's just what the arm cannon looks like when Samus has the Light Suit on. But the official wallpaper gives no indication of the arm cannon being extended and having purple parts on it.
Here are some pics of the Annihilator that I've seen through some video footage. It's not the best lookin pics but they show enough to confirm that the beam Samus is using with the Light Suit is not the Annihilator.
Could this be the extra beams we've been hoping for? Will the other four directions of the C-Stick be utilised? (remember the C-Stick can go in 8 directions)... Or maybe, just maybe Retro has given another traditional Metroid element back to us. Maybe that IS the power beam, with some nice upgrades added to it. The Spazer? Wave? Ice? Plasma?... I really wish I could play this game right now and find out XD You guys in the US get to play this game in a few short days and I have to wait for another 20 days till I get it.
