You can place rows of single block crumble blocks in a 2 block wide shaft such that they alternate sides.  Place too few and it's easy to springball (or sb) through, too many and it's a little ridiculous to get through in real time.  You see a failed attempt of this in MDZ guarding plasma.

Any and all Spring Ball puzzles, with the exception of non-mockballable crumble block runs, can be done with bomb jumping.

I'm not entirely sure of what you mean by non-mockballable crumble block runs, but... Lies! The wys listed by Xaggoth are the ways currently known to make springball a necessity, but my R&D team is working frantically to discover more options.
I am the team. So progress is going a bit slow atm.

That's an unmockballable crumbleblock passage. It was a quick one.
You could have this statue/statuette/sign/orb/thing.

Two things:

1. You can definitely manage a mockball in the 4 spaces you've allowed. See the smv. (its made with soup, but since it doesn't leave the room, it should play with any rom)
2. Springball would not enable you to cross the bridge without perfect timing of jumps, and maybe not even then. 1 block of height when the morphball is almost 1 block tall doesn't allow enough room for getting across the crumble blocks.

...

Fine. I was wrong. Crappily MS paint fix'd.

I hate being wrong...

About the only way I can think of to make it springball needed.

Would the S in a circle suffice for a scroller or do I need to find out how to do the arrow too?

Side Note: What I am going to do is take the two large rooms in Crateria and clean them out, then totally redesign them, minus the doors. Heck, I might even have a little bit of fun elsewhere.

And to the person who asked about Bomb Torizo, you can help me with that if you want, since Ive expanded the room but do not know how to implement scrollers
The S works fine by itself, but arrows are usually included to make its effects extend to multiple tiles. Single ones only work in places where you can be forced to touch that particular tile, like morph ball tunnels or 1-block wide vertical shafts.

You can use the vertical/horizontal tile type, along with a certain BTS (I think it's FF) to copy a PLM property instead of using multiple PLMs.

Oh man, this makes my room design sooo much easier! Also, I think the two-block underwater springball gap is the only way to require springball; most skilled players can jump across crumble-block bridges.

I think you mean the only easily implemented way.
My crazy partially-underwater-speed-springballing works too, as long as you put enough uneven terrain to prevent short charges.

General Fizzer to HQ, message incoming from sunny Palma Nova, Mallorca.
Just reading up on recent posts, and being disapointed the there have been no posts in like four days. Would anyone be kind enough to upload an updated version of the project map? The have the honour of choosing the new colours used  8-)
I'll upload it to the first post when i return to jolly old england (...ha.), since here i can't.

Sorry, my main hack has kept me from this. I only have a few rooms done right now. As for England, I've always wanted to go there... What say you come home to Alaska and I come home to England?

oooo Alaska, could be interesting.... but I'm afraid I'm bound to England  :(

Just a suggestion, but I'm sure you could make a shutter only open upon screw attack impact. this could help people later in the hack who want new path openers when all are taken.

idk if that would work so well (I at least don't think that gates work or don't work based on the kind of damage they take; wouldn't it be easier for the develoopers to make them enemies, then?), but anyone can make a grey-door room with enemies vulnerable only to SA. Oh, and the creature in your signature frightens me.
some (if not all?) gates are enemies. Making them only vulnerable to SA would serve the same purpose as making them open to SA though.
The standard classification is :

If it's made up of a shotbubble and a gate and opens when you shoot said bubble, it's a PLM, and thus it's a gate.

If it's just an enemy (all the ones that close by themselves are) then its a shutter.

Is this screw attack thing for later areas in the game? and might I add that Screw Attack is located at the very end of my Noobsmasher-esk Lower Norfair, as a reward for winning the ultimate Golden Torizo battle.
As for the accidentally-wondering-into-stupidly-hard-optional-areas problem, why not just make it so that to enter the areas requires the same skill level as getting through the area, as I have done.
I'd still go in no matter what skill it took.  :o

Hey I'm just making sure, this things still alive right?
Green-Kirby, ROAR!
You know what. I hade a few ideas for Tourian. But non of them work. So any other then me can take that area.

Kraids lair: Going quite well. Only a few rooms left.

Don't worry about that, same goes for me.
Ok, the area that I originally claimed is finished, now I just have to do the room before Crocomire's.

Just as a warning to those who have rooms touching that one, there will be water, heat, and speedbooster blocks, so let me know if there is anything a player might not be able to handle if he/she stumbles in by accident. Ideally, the 3 doors that lead in to that room will be at least somewhat restrictive to prevent deaths.
