That actually reminds me of a little detail. If nate could possibly look into the fact that only one Mibbit user can connect to irc.metroid2002.com at a time at the moment, I'm sure a lot of people would appreciate it.

can always just use cgi as a mibbit alternative.

EDIT: Odd. This might be an old issue I am complaining about just now, don't know if it got fixed in the meantime. Mibbit used to tell me that my connection was denied because the max number of mibbiters were on the network, but this was ~4 months ago.

CGI isn't making them unbannable. If you're talking about IP changers, that can be handled, but they're still gonna get around it eventually.
But CGI is basically the bait. Pretty much every community that got an IRC chat running from a bunch of forumers had to use some crappy built-in client on a site to establish the community. It just seems so much easier at first to go to the chat from the same place you go to the forums. I'm all for keeping CGI, just to get people to come and be convinced to get a real client. I haven't quite given up on Metroid hype yet. There are going to be discoveries in the future, and fresh faces to come.
But don't get confused, I still hate using CGI. It's vastly inferior, and the very idea is basically faulty, but it does so much better a job at bringing people in that it's better to just leave it up, and encourage people to use something else.
