Me and a couple of friends are working on a hack showcase video (a sort of tribute to the hacking community!) and we wanted to  include more than just our hacks, we want to include everyones!  This video can show footage from old hacks, new  hacks, or WIP hacks, but if you want to spot in the video, we are going to need your permission.  If you would  like to give us a video segment that you made, send it to metroidconstruction@live.co.uk  squishy_ichigo@yahoo.com.

This videos minimum time needs to be 4:00 minutes, but anything longer than that well be cool to!  If you want to do a video segment yourself make sure to say that you are doing it, so we don't do one accidentally.  Video segment could be anything you want, but space may be limited depending on how many people volenteer, so make it look really cool so you get the whole segment in!  You may submit as may segments as you want, so doen't be shy!

Well, I hope we get alot of volenteers!

EDIT: Of course this video will be shown here on m2k2 after its completed!

4 min is a bit long. And why set a minimum anyway?
I will send in a segment but it's only like 1 or 2 min long.

Also will you add in some music over it or should I do that myself?

Not the segments, but the actual video needs to be 4 minutes long.

I already have song in mind to use for the vid, thats why it needs to be 4 minutes....

I will be doing the editing and such myself for the final video, but you can do your submission however you want! ^_^

I would really like to do this, but unfortunately me and my bro aren't going to have anything we can show off and probably won't for about another year because when we got some of the major ASM stuff done is when we want to show off some breif glimpses of our (His mostly) stuff working in action.

So if you plan on doing another one of these later then we might have something to share then. (Or unless we have a major breakthrough.) But not right now unfortunately.

Actually, considering the time it'll take to get asm and graphics done to the point where level design is the priority again, I don't see anything wrong with showing off some of the level design we've got now, as long as there's no real spoilers (rooms will probably be revamped once tilesets are completed anyway). I've made some movies of the places I made that I like, and I suggest you do the same for your stuff.

Biggest problem is that we still don't have a name for the hack to be listed as...

I may make my own clip.  Let me ask though, is there anything I should be aware of?  As in, can I record the footage with no audio and overlay my own?  Or should I have ingame audio?  I was thinking of making small clipshow from Volta and ingame audio would be funky to have in that case.

I don't have the time to make clips of SM-Impossible for your tribute video, but feel free to do some yourself.

My recommendation to demonstrate would be:

- Giant Norfair Morphball Maze right after Crocomire
- Hells run to Speed Booster
- Some boss fights like Spore Spawn, Draygon, or Suitless Ridley
- Obtaining late special items like Varia and Gravity Suits
- Mt. Doom

I'm working on making some videos from my SM hack for this, but as for video format, are .ZMVs ok?  I unfortunately don't have a version of ZSNES that can convert movie files to .WMV.  And please do not say "Use SNES9x!".

Zsnes video format is nothing but button imput. For it to work the user would have to have the ROM.

Also you should set a date for this or some thing.
