Actually I got something a bit older, and got it from a different website, but the EZflash is very reliable, unlike some some other flashcards, I've heard about. "I've got a cycloDS, and I can't savestate"
Just got my CycloDS evolution. I'm playing SM on the DS, but the sound is kinda crappy. the graphics are a little glitchy too. still fun to play my fav game on a handhled for the first time. thanks for the info!
EDIT: WOAH! SNES-DS emulation is not exactly perfect. One or more of the graphic layers isn't working properly. the map/weapons screen is totally black, and I just killed an invisible Kraid! Also, when samus is supposed to walk behind something she still appears in the foreground. Is anyone else having this problem? I'm using the SNESDS emulator.
PS- sound is crap. exploding bombs sound more like big crazy farts.
EDIT2: something wrong with the bosses. kraid was invisible, crocomire had no head, and the entire phantoon room is black. the first two i could beat anyways, but black phantoon room sucks. the onyl time the room is visible is when he goes into his attack mode, and even then you cant see him - just the room itself. wonder if anyone else is having this problem, maybe i can adjust my emulator. either that or I just wasted $53.

hmmm... my flash card only has a few of these problems. and it was cheaper.
I switched snemulds, but had the same problems until I tinkered with the bg layers. works now, but i have the scrolling sky glitch. not as bad as it was before though.
Be warned, for all those who play SNES games on their DS, using SNEMULDS:
1. As far as SM stuff goes, you will have to mess around with the BG settings to actually SEE Phantoom (and possibly Kraid.) Play around and see what works - without getting yourself killed by the boss, of course.
2. SNEMULDS is not perfect at emulating sounds. Learn this from the start. You WILL get weird noise glitches from time to time, and those will have NOTHING to do with the quality of the ROM. For example, I was playing SM Dependence on my EZV, and Brinstar's music track incorporated rubber-band-snapping noises at random (Freaked the hell out of me, too. I was looking around one day, going, "Who the hell is playing with rubber bands? OH SHI-") Another, funnier example is a savestate BS made where Draygon makes an electronic noise at the end of his roar. LOLZ
3. If you've got a RAM Expansion Pack for the DS (the one that comes with the DS Browser, or similar, like the EZ 3-in-1,) USE IT WHEN YOU PLAY SNEMULDS. I'm not kidding. Most ROMs that have been expanded a bank or two (such as Metorid Magma, to name one of them) will not play music or sounds on SNEMULDS without that Expansion. So don't come complaining, "Hey, my 3,105KB hack won't play the sounds" if you don't own the RAM cart. The only exception to the "Use the RAM Expansion" rule is when you're playing Chrono Trigger (and the like; this is the only game I know with this problem.)
Most other stuff is explanatory, but please, if you have any further questions about flashcard emulation, feel free to ask, and I will get back to you on that. You're welcome!
sometimes when i enter a room, i have to play with the bg settings in order to see everything, but then when i enter the next room, things are fuct up in there because of the settings i adjusted for the previous room. sometimes i get the rooms looking ok, but then the map/weapons screen goes black. Is there a certain configuration that makes everything show up all the time, or do i need to adjust the settings throughout the whole game?

Unfortunately, no. Because SNEMULDS uses DS graphics functions to render ROMs, and the DS doesn't have a auto-background order function that can be utilitized for the sake of SNES games, SNEMULDS may never have this capability. It's relatively easy for a computer emulator to do, since the program runs on a clean slate without the hardware limits of a DS. Your best bet is to remember your settings for the particular rooms you have trouble seeing in (which, I'm guessing, are mostly Phantoom's and Kraid's rooms) and switch each time you do so.
Also, try turning OFF block priority. Some rooms - AND the map - show up correctly when this setting is disabled.
As he said just mess with the block priority option. I can see everything, map and rooms without togglng layers (still needed for crocomire and kraid though).
Another thing is to use Fast speed and cycle hacks. This combo works great and the only issue is that empty rooms will have 120% or so speed, if it bothers you just revert to normal speed and change afterwards.
Don't let issues bug you, aside from a minor boss graphical problem this game plays wonderfully on snemulDS.
I figure this is a handheld gaming of hacks thread so I'm asking my question here:
I hear you can play hacks on the PSP so I bought one. I also got Media Manager for PSP. So, with this in mind, how do you put SNES games and hacks on the PSP?? Also, do I have everything I need to do so?? And are savestates still an option?? There are hacks I'd like to somehow put on the PSP. Thanks for any help. :-)

Thanks for the info. I might have to stop reading the PocketHeaven and affiliates' posts regarding SM.

Yep, it answers most if not all my questions ultimately. I'll have to order myself a new battery and have a magic stick, for starters, for it to work. Someone on that site posted a youtube video link, too. I should at least be playing some of the Super Metroid hacks on my PSP by the time my birthday rolls by in November. Thanks for the info.!!
*also looks forward to playing Chrono Trigger on PSP*
Wh-wh-what? First of all, what type of Flash Cart are you using? We can't tell you what to use if we don't know your hardware.
Although, if you're using a slot 1 approach (and are therefore using MicroSD cards,) you're going to need a Memory Card Reader to put your stuff on the card, yes.
I want to buy the CycloDS Evolution. As I understand it, I have to get a MicroSD-Card, A cardreader to put the stuff on the MicroSD-Card and finally the CycloDS Evolution. Right?
€: I own a normal Nintendo DS already. It is important which DS I have?
