I like the serris fight too, but I HATE Yukaza! Going to him from the ship isn't that bad, but when you get a bad door, or he keeps crawling on the wall over, and over again it sucks. It gets worse though, I am HORRIBLE at his second stage, it takes forever for me to kill him because I always either don't wait long enough for my beam to fully charge, or I shoot while he is spinning and it doesn't hurt him. It just so happens that I'm just about to fight him in my current run :x I have 0:34 on the clock, so wish me luck!

Gravity chamber glitch: Melt the ice on the ceiling, leave the room, come back, and the grapple point is deactivated, requiring an alternate method of collecting that missile expansion.
Disapearing items: Various items will disapear if you leave the room and come back after they appear, like the Spider Ball or the Artifact of.... the one you get from the Phazon Elite.

about the glitches, the first one is the infamous g.chamber glitch. check out the first point here for more on that.
the second one refers to numerous times in early versions of the game (i.e. na original 0-00) when you can leave the room, go to the next room (dumping the original room from memory), then go back to the original room, and the item is not there. some items that's been known to happen with are the spider ball (if you get grapple early and can get out of the room without collecting it), as well as the artifact of warrior, which was fixed in later versions of the game.

sounds like you're doing great. my save before ridley was 0:47 in my 0:53, so you should be guaranteed 0:54, and may even be able to pull off 0:53.

I just finished the run and got 54! :) . It was close though, when I saved with 48 it was almost 49, but I had a good ridley fight and everything so it was pretty good. I saved right before the last fight with 51(almost 52) and had an OK fight. I messed up on the escape shinespark and had a slow omega fight so I got fifty five(but thats still beter than last time). I did it again and had a better SA-X fight and I did the escape shinespark, had a quick(but not 5 second) omega kill and got 54 with about 10 seconds to spare.
Like I said before, I have no way of recording a run right now, but if I ever get a GBP I will. I doubt I will get one anytime soon though, seeing as I have no money to buy one 
. If anybody thinks up a different way to record a run, then please tell me!

Do you mean like set it some where and hold the GBA in front of it while I play? I guess its possible, but wouldn't it be pretty shakey, because I can't hold it perfectly still while I play. I guess I'll try it and see if I can tell whats going on in the video, but it wouldn't make a very good speed run vid. It would proove my time though! If I sent you the video nate, then would my time be an official time?(if you can even tell whats going on)
I've got a GC, but like W.D. I'm broke. The next thing on my list to buy is MZM. I have it on my PC, but it's much better portable, and using the GBA's controls insted of a keyboard. I'm too young too get a job :x , and I don't get any allowance(We're not exactly rich, if you know what I mean) I'll get some cash for my B-Day at the end of the month, but I'm not gonna spend it on a GBP. BTW my friend is letting me borrow his camera on wendsday, so I'll start "recording" soon.

In the large room with the lava and 3 power ups, there is a strange thing in the bottom. Go to the bottom and run right as far as you can (right up to the morph ball tunnel). Run left and go throught the door. You will run into a little step and nothing will happen.
Now try running right. It's the same path, but you can build up a boost going in this direction. You can even charge it but it must be pixel-perfect.

I just did a quick single segment run(isn't that what you call it when you don't save at all?) and got 0:56. Thats pretty good for single segment, right? I have an idea for the records page, incase nobody has though of it yet. There could be a meltdown catagory! It would be like the frigate escape times one in MP. Your time would be what it says when you get the widebeam, since that is the easiest place to see exactly how much time you have. Let me know if this will work. BTW my best meltdown time is 4:19:9x.
kridly yeah, great idea. had it before but never really came to my consciousness. i would definitely only accept times done on the real cart accompanied by full video documentation. sorry, but there's so much fucking slowdown in the emulation in meltdown it's not even funny.
