I saw there in m2k2 that there is no PAL record. Doors are wide open, as Red Scarlet said. You cannot do it on emu though. Good luck if you are trying to do a 100%, I was also planning to make a PAL no sequence-break speedrun, but well, I might as well see some good runs from other people.
Let me tell you : The difference between NTSC and PAL is extremely subtile, so the so-called speed difference is not valid I'm afraid of. For an example samus is sped up, so you don't see Samus running slower in PAL, yet some enemies, doors etc are not sped up.
New time!!!

1:21, 100%

Pretty good but still needs a lot of improvement..... I wasn't very happy with the entire run.
00:40 SS any%...I know I'm not very active here, but you guys don't understand how set I am on beating the SS record  :P  ...I can now perfectly do the early wrecked ship using a super missle, which doesnt give me much extra time, but I guess helps out in the long run.

Still can't do the lower norfair spineshark, and I have no clue why. I've done it, i'd have to say...3 times out of 100+. Door seems to not open fast enough for me D: ...I've read everything about the damn thing, seen it done in numerous videos, seen screenshots of exactly how to do it, and still can't seem to pull it off. Not being able to do it is not only a killer on my time, but a killer on my PBs, which also leads to more time loss.
are you recording?
Yup, and I almost burst out in tears everytime I see my ending time. So close, yet, so far.
keep at it. maybe someone here will give you some advise on that that you are having trouble with.
Mine is 1:55 so far

no offense, but are you blind?

no offence taken, i was looking for it and i could'nt see it so i posted a new one, i then saw it.

i am sorry, i will try not to do it from now on
1:14 100% run. It was crap,so I guess I'm going to imporve it soon.

@GemSweater: Are you playing on NTSC or PAL? The door open slower in the Pal version,so that would probably why you couldn't do it.
I guess you have seen this description here: http://www.samusforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=53&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=15 ?

Are you using some of the new Speed tricks which have been discovered? (I actually only know about the Norfair gate hater on the main page, but there are probably some more...)

Anyway, I thought Smokey's SS :38 to be mighty impressive, so good luck trying to beat it :)
New time again!

1:15 100%

Mine would probably be 1:14 too but I still can't get past those Zebetites.... probably due to the lack of a look down button.
Mister ...
My only run I've done is like 4 : 48.  Maybe when I get a Revolution, and have Super Metroid on it, I'll actually try for speed running.
Those are the exact Screenshots I was talking about that I've seen, XtraX, and(sadly enough) I found a reply I made in a different thread concerning my problem, and helped myself. Hmm...Still 00:40 though, but I made a crapload of mistakes. Ah well, maybe one day.

**edit** 00:39  Rolling Eyes broke 40, can't wait til I have time later to keep trying.
Speedrunner
My new record any-%: 0.59

This not looking cool, because im hate Super metroid controls.
I try maybe someday beat this run sub 57 but not yet. Im take lot mistake my run and my run are PAL-versio.

Agreed. Having to press Select and messing up with it so many times probably takes a minute off my time itself, especially with all the metroids by Mother Brain  :?
I switched "Select" with "Item Cancel",it seemed better for Speed running after I got used to it.

Not a bad idea, would have to play around with it and get used to it.
Mister ...
Because it's running smoothly, I'm probably going to be speed running SM.

After this Non-speed run, I got 3hours and 11minutes with 59% items.  Half of it was played with, and without a PC controller.

Like I said, I do plan on speed running this game, going for a crazy, but I'm sure already done Single Segment game, and all that good stuff.

I just noticed this, but in the Ridley part of Norfair, it played the Magmoor Caverns theme from Prime.  I thought that it was amazing how close they sounded, and by that I mean not remixed from Super to Prime. What other music, if any, is also from the prime series?

And what happened to that Hyper beam between Super and Fusion?  The SA-X coulda gone over kill with Samus if that ability had been kept.
in the name of justice!
uh, what you mean is actually that prime reused the lower norfair song from super metroid for magmoor. =)  the opening song from tallon overworld seems pretty similar to the original metroid's brinstar theme, but the best remix is the one from m3 maridia, which is the hydrodynamo station song in echoes.

It's red brinstar, not maridia.
Mister ...
I don't like Maridia very much.  Maybe because there's too much water.
I('d) like to watch (some MP3 runs)

You do realise that Prime came out years after Super, right?
The music from Magmoor was directly recycled from Super, right? Or was it changed slightly?
