Metroid Prime, what else?
well, [title], when there is an error with your varia suit, suddenly a lot of weird words appear on the screen, right?
i have paused a youtube video at this right moment, and ive seen many things, such as "0xFFFFFFFFF" (classic windows register hexadecimal value^^), "null" (the famous null value), and, well hidden, some words in french, german, and even in italian, i think.
there is:

french "V o u s  m o u r r e z  s i " => it means "you die if..." there was the "s i" just after the sentence; i dont know whether it's part of it or not

german : something like "Samus (<= not sure) hat sich ..." => meaning "(samus) has (...) her/himself"

EDIT: ive got the video, the sentences are: "V o u s  m o u r r e z .s i v otre" meaning "you die if your (...)", "andrayda (<= theres not the G) hat sich die Gestalt", i saw also the german word "k채mpfen" meaning "to fight" (cf hitlers "mein kampf"), "%s" a classic string format mask (thats programmation^^), the word "DANGER", "Wii format" (lol), and right at the end of the readable, "morira" (maybe italian)

plasma beam v.2.0
there is also the word "WII" in caps, yes.  but its at a diagonal at somepoint.  i cant find it in the vid.  maybe im just seeing things
Metroid Prime, what else?
@DJGrenola: well, i typed the Fs without really thinking about it^^
@craztad: yeah it would be great^^ - sorry, but what does mean "teitotai yo"? my japanese is limited (but somehow advanced :p)
@Dark Phoenix: i think that this message has a lot of things to hide. lets findem all ;)

Here is the image
and m o u r e z is written with only one r not 2
plasma beam v.2.0
ok, i looked, the WII was just a few numbers and 1's angled above.  nvm
Metroid Prime, what else?
@craztad: thanks ;)
@recit0: yes, in fact, it's a little mistake, because "mourez" is present, and "mourrez" is future. using present tense with "if" is very unusual, thats why^^
I know im french lol  :-)
Metroid Prime, what else?
me too re-lol :)
j'aurais pas pu le garder longtemps xd^^
plasma beam v.2.0
i took french 1 and 2 and aced both.  only that that was last year.  and we never got to future tense.

Hmm well the part that says...
"Destination Coor\n...................0xFFFFFFFF NULL"

\n = newline (shouldn't have been displayed though....)

0xFFFF FFFF is just a hex number with no real significant meaning on its own same with NULL.

and

"%s (error %d)"

%s is used for a string replacement. %d for a number replacement.
ex: if you did this printf("%s (error %d)", "SomeString", 5232); You would get
"SomeString (error 5232)" as the output.

I think that on most operating systems though the computer would crash if you didn't specify the data. ex: printf("%s (error %d));
Bananas GOOD, Kremlings BAD
"morira" = "will die" in spanish
Metroid Prime, what else?
Ntsc, "error" may be a constant ^^ (in some languages it doesnt have to be in caps)

@Dark Phoenix: for a simple future, just use verb "aller" + infinitive, ex: "je vais manger" "demain je vais aller au cinéma" etc....
but dont use it for a "far away" future :p
"vous mourrez" and "vous allez mourir" are both future, but not the same, right ?^^
but dont worry (lol), in french there are sooo much tenses to learn.... i think french is the world's most complicated language (im learning japanese(since 5 years) and german(since 3 years) => i know what im talking about XD)
plasma beam v.2.0
im sorta teaching myself latin too... mostly because i thought it would be fun, instead its messing with what i learned in french.  i think some of it might be in latin though.  the couple of questionable parts look familiar from some of the stuff i know.

Time bomb set get out fast!
I know Latin, and I don't see any here.  Actually, I think we've accounted for all the text now.

English: Destination Coor[dinates], DANGER, overrun, Wii Format, GFS
French: Vous mour[r]ez si votre
German: K채mpfen, [G]andrayda hat sich die Gestalt
Spanish: morira[i?]
C or C++: "%s (error %d)", hex numbers in 0x or 0X format, NULL, \0 (another null character)
Other computer stuff: BIOSv3.0, (y/n), ^H

A couple of observations...
  • K채mpfen can be the noun "fights" in certain situations, and it's also a few forms of the verb "to fight".  Capitalization suggests the former.  That M before it is suggestive.  "Mein K채mpfen" interrupted?
  • The German sentence means "[G]andrayda has [given] herself the shape [of someone or other]".  Gotta be an HUD message from somewhere in the game, probably the fight with that Hunter.  Fragment of the European translation in progress?
  • The French reads "You will die if your".  That's either generic spookiness or another translation fragment; I'll bet the rest would be "corruption bar fills".  Spanish is also "you will die", as noted above.
  • 0x is a common way to indicate hex numbers.  (0X less so.)  It comes from C, where you also use %x or %X for hex output depending on what case you want the letters in.
  • 0xFFFFFFFF is too big to be a character or anything.  It's one less than 2^32, which is about four billion.  Might be several nulls, though.
  • ^H isn't a C format, but you see it in DOS and such for special characters.  That one's a backspace -- in particular, someone backspaced exactly enough times to delete "Wii Format" and "overrun".
  • "teitotai" doesn't seem to mean anything.  Where'd you find that, bizzi?

The whole thing seems to be mostly in-jokes, some of which make sense after you play (like the hints about corruption) and some of which are just the programmers having fun.  What I'd really like to know is whether the "random" hex numbers have any meaning.  I doubt it, mostly because some joker put a G in one of them.

I'm amazed you think so with five years of Japanese.  But talk to me about complicated when you learn classical Greek.  Hoooo boy.
i guess because i'm the first guy to say "navajo" i win the "most complicatedest" argument.

plural of kampf is kämpfe ... unless this is dative it's probably the verbal nominative (gerund). something like "the fighting"/"the struggling" in english.

french is facile.
Metroid Prime, what else?
@zeke: for the french sentence (on PAL version), when you land on phaaze, it says: "... si votre barre se remplit au maximum, vous mour(r)ez" or something like that.  could be a link there...
i saw the "teitotai yo" just under craztad's avatar (its written in japanese)

when you are a native speaker, you know how french is complicated grammatically. there are so much little details in it, so much things to learn... if youre learning it at school today, it may seem easy, yes. it is fairly easy, for example, to write an english novel, after some years of studying. but to write a french novel, there are a lot more of things to know well about. grammatically, french IS very hard to master. thus, it is not "facile" at all. being french myself, i think that what i wrote here is no less than true.

PS im not trying to be rude or something, im just trying to explain ;)
