Artistic talent needed

Hey folks,
I should have made this thread a month ago but I'm lazy. The internet archive's speed runs collection needs a logo! It will appear in the upper right of all speed run pages (currently it's just a "moving images" logo). The max size is 200x75. I have zero art talent so I hvae to ask others... My only suggestion is that it should contain the text "speed runs" and some indiciation of the most popular games that are ran, eg metroid, quake, mario. But I was told we can't have any sprites from games because that's a copyright/trademark concern... so try to be creative. No deadlines, so do whatever you want and post any ideas you have for a collaberative effort. I've seen a lot of cool stuff on this board from some, but I never take the time to reply with any praise... I'm a busy guy you know Wink

Um, will it move? Because I might have some ideas, but I don't know if it's gonna move or not. I also have no artistic talent whatsoever, and my best picture ever was a desert island done on paint, so all I can offer is my ideas. :)

Do you have any suggestions Radix? I was thinking of making a speed run logo with a silhouette of Samus (or multiple game chars.) in running stances...or something to that effect.

Quake...isn't that an emulator of sorts? Or is it a game? Like...er...earthquakes? No seriously, is there gonna be a gigantic earthquake and you have to save the world?

BTW, I do know what Quake is.

By playing Super Mario all my life. PC games mean almost nothing to me. My computer kind of sucks anyways.

Apparantly nobody ever noticed that sda is on planetQUAKE and at the bottom of every page in the 'other games' section is a "return to the QUAKE section"... and that the sda logo has QUAKE guy in it.

Well, yeah, but that doesn't tell them what Quake is... unless they actually get off their butt and click on the links. Besides, how would they know it's a Quake guy if they don't know what Quake is?

OK well.... Quake is a first person shoot released in 1996 from id software, the makers of DooM and Wolfenstein 3D. It was the first true 3d engine, with wolf3d & DooM being 2.5D, in that it looked 3D but you couldn't move vertically or have areas on top of other areas, and enemies were still sprites, but full models in Quake.

Quake is what got me really into speed running... I had done some with super metroid 10 years ago, but it was Quake that made me start a site to keep track of records.

Actually I kinda like Halo. It's pretty fun. Of course, Prime is way better, but Halo does have multiplayer. And also, I saw a really stupid topic on GameFAQs, something like "Halo is a ripoff of Prime." Um, Halo came out a year before...
