Fair point. I guess when I do a lot of segment attempts without a product, it feels like forever. I did maybe 6-7 hours of attempts on segment 2, ugh.

I was on the Seekers segment for like 6 months...

Now before I start working on segment 3, any tips on the rip-off hive mecha fight? (Not sure what else to call it...) I know the robots spawn in the same spot every time.

Other than that, no.
You were on segment 2 for 4 months iirc, but I already finished that...
my umbrella goes directly to Bankai
speedrunning the making of a speed run.
Parax, did you have any kind of setup for sniping the ship during the pirate fight. I can't time it right for the life of me...

Aim left. VERY far left. that's really all I can say about it
No. I never thought that was particularly hard honestly.
Idk. Maybe I'm bad at predicting where to shoot
1. Kirby that actually helped a lot. I've only missed the snipe once since i've started aiming really far left.

2. Sadly this fight was in a bad segment...

I run this here hotel of an evening

Agreed
Run is on hold until i get more info on Norion skip.

Norion skip?
There isn't any Norion skip AFAIK.

Not without Moonjump anyway

EDIT: come to think of it, I dunno if grapple lasso / ped suit are skippable even if one could skip Norion w/o Moonjump. I might try later (with Moonjump for the skip obviously)

Andy found a way to get the PED before going to norion, but the problem with that is you get locked out of ever getting grapple lasso, which is kind of needed for a few things. The only way we could get some kind of skip going is if we could find a SW in norion so that we could wallcrawl around the bulkhead that's blocking the door to the elevator.
Correction: Andy found a way to get the PED before going to Norion with moonjump. It's cool stuff and all but it's nothing exciting unless he confirms it's possible without cheats. Even if it is possible it's irrelevant for this run because it screws you out of Grapple Lasso + Command Visor, both of which are required.

Oh yeah, i forgot about command visor
Oh whoops, I thought I mentioned moonjump, that's what I get for posting after I just woke up >_>
And yeah I forgot about command visor also >_>
rip i better get back to work then.
And here it is. Sloppy sloppy sloppy. Segment 3

Any tips on Flyby Skip? Looks pretty complicated.
rocks, locks, and invisible blocks
Not that now is the best time to point this out, but you could save about 4-5 seconds in Substation East by dropping out of ball tunnel after the E-tank and then hitting the load trigger. It's really not that hard to bomb jump back into the tunnel after. And that door should take long enough that you wouldn't lose time any of the time saved doing the bomb jump.

Also was it actually faster to roll through those things that blow up at 2:26? I remember Parax unmorphing to shoot them.
SHIT I KNEW THAT WOULD BE FASTER. I EVEN THOUGHT ABOUT TIMING IT.

He did, but every now and then I would pass through without taking very much recoil at all. Just happened to get "unlucky" I suppose.
well, first of all, it's not "flyby skip" because the thing it skips isn't a flyby...

it's not really complicated. the trick is just to know that the "one bomb in air" rule applies to bombs that are laid while Samus is in midair. The location you actually place the bomb doesn't matter, what matters is whether Samus is in the air or touching the ground when you lay the bomb. So you have to land on the tunnel and make sure you lay the bomb before you roll off.

oh shit. that puts it into perspective a little better. Thanks

Edit: What does it mean if my top bomb doesn't "hit"?

The 1 bomb in air rule basically means you can hit 1 bomb that was laid in the air and actually get height from it, any more after that (without touching ground first) and the bombs don't do anything. You can technically hit infinitely many bombs laid on something considered ground in succession, the rule only applies to bombs laid in the air. If you hit two bombs, and the second one doesn't "hit" you, your first bomb was laid in the air, as well as the second. You need to lay the first bomb while in a ground state.

this trick is just stupid. can't be much worse than grinding for a sup-12k meter ridley though...

Edit: I'm having trouble with the timing of the final bomb. I always seem to be just to high for it to hit me...

Edit 2: nevermind that, i was just laying the final bomb too early. Now my problem is the final bomb actually putting me over the edge. Do i need to hold a certain direction?

Edit 3: Yea I can get the top bomb to hit me every 30 tries or so. Just can't seem to get over the edge.
