I didn't really want to post this but since somebody asked me to post it on M2K2 I guess I will.

It's a No OOB any% segmented run. It makes use of the Double Infinite Speed route made by Hazel but doesn't use any wallcrawling. I did this for two purposes: My PB also has no out-of-bounds so this would be a useful comparison. Also, I wanted to focus on movement and practice that which cannot change. I'm glad to have learned all I did, but putting it in a single-segment run now is gonna suck.

Each segment has the IGT and my own mini-notes on the segment and where I had obvious improvements to make. Please feel free to leave a comment on the video, reply here to me, or send a PM with places I can improve (don't worry about being redundant; any advice helps).

Enjoy.

I started up a new segmented run under the same stipulates, as a way to practice and improve upon the old run.

Segment 1
Old: 2:01
New: 2:0x
Improvement: ??? No Biohazard but better movement so probably a 2:01 or 2:02 or something.

Segment 2
Old: 5:01
New: 4:xx
Improvement: Better escape by a few seconds.

Segment 3
Old: 5:16.483
New: 5:10.717
Total Improvement: 0:05.766 seconds
Just faster movement basically.

Segment 4
Old: 10:57.100
New: 10:37.433
Improvement: 13.90 seconds
Total Improvement: 19.667 seconds
Much better movement. Zoid was a 1:06, so could be better but this was a clean segment.

Segment 5
Old: 14:59.700
New: 14:22.600
Improvement: 17.433 seconds
Total Improvement: 37.100 seconds
Ghosts were kinda shit but it was decent luck and good movement for once and I took it.
got a 25:21 segment 6 (-1:08 over the previous run) but not sure if I want to keep it or not. I think I'll stick around in this segment longer for more practice. Still plenty of improvements to make.

Finally got a chance to upload some vids so here's an update.

Segment 6
Old: 26:29.317
New: 25:22.267
Improvement: 29.949 seconds
Total Improvement: 1:07.049 minutes

My movement improved tremendously over this segment. The mistakes added up to about an extra 10-13 seconds or so, but I really wanted to move on from this after a while. Also, this segment was 2 seconds slower than another one I had, but boosting in Root Tunnel is going to save about as much time to cover that difference. Also, this marks the "officially probably 58 pace" so I'm happy. Not even halfway done and I'm in sight of the goal time. I won't give up and try to rush it though. :)

Segment 7
Old: 31:18.267
New: 30:03.683
Improvement: 7.534 seconds
Total Improvement: 1:14.583 minutes

This is a colossal pain in the ass. It's hard enough not to get stuck in the furnace tunnel (which happens quite a lot lately) but good movement, with a good ghost, and then LGT not busting my balls is quite difficult.

Segment 8
Old: 33:35.583
New: 32:22.750
Improvement: 16.249 seconds
Total Improvement: 1:30.832 minutes

Short but not sweet. The ghetto jump for geo core at the start is odd and boosting around zoomers is a pain, but the rest is just learning better things like twin fires dashes and plasma bhop. Fun magmoor movement. Also screw TFT bhop. I found that to be difficult because of over/undershooting the jump and how soon you have to turn..ugh.

Segment 9
Old: 38:16.717
New: 36:28.233
Improvement: 16.651 seconds
Total Improvement: 1:47.483 minutes

Skipping the PB expansion helped because that saves about 11.83 seconds. I rushed this segment.

Segment 10
Old: 40:26.733
New: 38:26.200
Improvement: 12.017 seconds
Total Improvement: 1:59.500 minutes

A 19 square maze helped tremendously, as did better movement over my old segment. First attempt, thus I was so surprised I made a beeline for the save station. I was expecting to continue this one for practice heh.
Just watched a few segments. Movement is starting to shape up! Few botched dashes and boosts here and there but overall looking good.

After you finish this run, the next step is to learn OoB most definitely. At this point you're hindering your self improvement if you keep putting it off. You're fully capable and I wouldn't let the possibility of more resets scare you off.

The plan is to finish this then go for SS Sub Hour then another segmented run but with OoB. :) But I think I'll take a short break before I jump back into it after 59 though. It's a LOT to redo these things constantly. And I think a break would help me fix my double tab B dashes. About time to do that because of how often I fudge up dashes with jumps.
I run this here hotel of an evening
Haven't watched any of it yet, but I'm glad the noOOb category (sorry, couldn't resist) still gets played by someone other than me. I do enjoy OOB runs too, though i'd love to see an in-bound TAS someday.

Hint hint wink wink ;D
Jack where exactly are the double-tap dashes causing problems?
Mostly in failed segments, but just in that I think I tap B twice then start bending before I actually get the dash, resulting in a jump backwards/forwards.

Segment 11
Old: 46:14.733
New: 43:43.750
Improvement: 30.5 seconds
Total Improvement: 2:30 minutes

The reason for the massive time save, despite those errors after MQA, is that my old run used 2 MQB saves: Before OP and after Newborn. Also, the movement here is a bit updated. MQA Access, the elevator access room, elevator, and FHA, as well as the OP phase 1 are kinda crud, but the rest is pretty solid and I felt that it was as good as it was going to get without sticking to a grind. This segment felt pretty good and was fun to do, after I made it out of MQA Access/MQA anyways. It's challenging.

Segment 12
Old: 52:59.283
New: 50:09.000
Improvement: 19.322 seconds
Total Improvement: 2:50.283 minutes

I had to relearn pretty much everything for this and still had quite a few mistakes (slow kill on Strength pirates, failed jump after Strength, weenie strat boost and non-dash in Reflecting Pool, totally fucked up World grab thanks to collision and my own inteptitude) but it's so hard to get a clean segment that I was just fed up, and went with this. THANKS JUSTIN FOR THE NINE SECONDS, NEXT TIME ENABLE ME.
I didn't push you further because you said you'll be doing another. Getting burned out at the end of a segmented run is never good too, so it would be best to move on and finish.
I'll always blame you and forever make you my enemy

One more to go.

Segment 13

Improvement: 4.900 seconds
Total Improvement: 2:55.183 minutes

cool camera shot with the statue

Segment 14
Old: 6:24
New: 5:57
Improvement: 27 seconds
Total Improvement: ~3:22 minutes
The dash off the metroid was mediocre sadly, as was the boosting pretty much everywhere. The snipes were average, but the luck was above average. Pretty good fight, but I wouldn't be able to eke a 56 out of this so I just went with this one. Probably could have saved 10-20 more seconds but eh.

I didn't expect this to be honest. I expected a 58, not a mid (and potentially low) 57. With some fixed segments (far phen, upper mines) this definitely could have been a 56. Really happy with this. The next goals are 59 SS (maybe even 58, I don't know yet) then OoB segmented+SS for 55. =)
