This shows that skipping Annihilator could be done in a SW-assisted any% run; doing this is easily far faster than actually fighting Quadraxis, and also allows for an (AFAIK) faster route through Sanctuary:

Screw Attack > Obtain Energy > Return Energy and get Cobalt > Spider > Sky Temple key > Leave Sanctuary

I'm pretty sure that Annihilator is barely useful anywhere. I don't see any drawback to skipping it, but am I missing anything?

always move fast
that's really awesome.

dj and i were talking the other way about a sanc route, and consider that there is a morph secret world in [the room with the small spider track that you ghetto jump over], you can wallcrawl over to spider guardian first thing in sanc.  it would look like:

spider ->  sky temple key -> quad [or maybe now skip quad and grab energy] ->screw -> return energy -> leave.  also, we were talking about getting dark visor after sanctuary.  the basic tradeoff is you either take a detour for chykka or you take a detour for the key after spider.  however, with secret worlds you can do a screw attack secret world in the dark version of spider guardian's room (far side), and then quickly hop over and grab the key whenever you are also going for the key in sanc entrance.  i think that's much faster.

of course, i'm not too experienced with the game anymore, so any thoughts?

edit: also, do you think it's possible (by waiting in the light spots a long time) to skip the annihilator under low percent conditions (without dark suit)?  i ask because if so, the only thing in the way of skipping dark suit is the boost guardian, which i'm almost positive can be done (i've killed it myself, but died as it was dying).

Video is indeed awesome, nice work.

Now I'm not horribly experienced with this game, but I don't think you can get screw before quad or quad skip considering you need it either to leave the arena or to enter the dark energy controller SW. Also since you need to head down to the temple to return the energy anyway, you could put off getting spider (since you don't need spider for anything if you skip Quadraxis) and pick up Cobalt instead of skipping it at the same time and then just make a minor detour to pick up spider, get the key and hop back over to the main part of Sanctuary via [hive] dynamo works SW after getting the key.

One other possibility with SWs is to go get the Hive Entrance key without Light Suit. Avoids needing to take a large detour back into Sanctuary since you can just aether jump to the top of the room now, but don't know if that could be done without Dark Suit.

Yeah, what Parax said regarding Screw Attack and Spider; you're already nearby the normal entrance when returning the energy, and getting Spider then drops you off in a decent position for leaving Sanctuary. Maybe if the wallcrawl to Spider was very quick, but that seems unlikely.

Putting off Chykka sounds interesting; I'm not really sure what the route would be without it, though, so I can't comment on the speed of doing so.

There's a pretty large gap between Hive Controller Access and the middle of Temple Security Access; I don't see any way you could cross that in 16 seconds. :(

Nicely done. Does this also serve as confirmation that you could do this in low% without a recharge?

Oh, and I like that late spider route.

One other thing I was thinking about just recently was the original Feeding Pit early power bomb expansion -- the one under the dark water in the room next to the one in Agon where you get light beam. I've got that Power Bomb Expansion myself in the past via SWs (without Light Suit), but never managed to get out of the water without dying. We didn't know as much then as is known now about SWs, though, so I'm wondering: If, without Dark Suit, you could manage somehow to grab the thing and escape, might this be quicker than the original one off Temple Assembly Site? I reckon someone should go back in there and play around a bit.
Bananas GOOD, Kremlings BAD
I know it's risky, but if there are solid standable spots OOB then try screw attack to cover distances.
When you go to fight Quadraxis, where is the trigger to start the battle? Like is it on the lower floor where the fight takes place, or after you JUST enter the room like Flaahgra in Metroid Prime?

Yeah, that should easily be possible now.

Was the problem getting out of the water, or doing it quickly enough to avoid dying?

I don't think there's anything around the Temple that you could use. :\

It starts about midway between the elevator and Quadraxis; it stretches pretty high and wide (and decently far back, I think).

Just jump straight out of the aether into a screw attack. Whether you could actually make it across the whole room in one SA is a different question tho, you probably can't unless there's another ledge near the top halfway across the room you could use to land, or alternately if you could fall behind a wall and get an instant SA unmorph in midair so you can land back in the aether and then jump again or something. Would be ridiculous for low% either way.
my umbrella goes directly to Bankai
hm, wasn't there a glitch that prevented you from getting the cobalt translator if you returned the energy before you pick it up or is that a problem with the emerald one only?

also, wouldn't the SW to go back from the dark energy controller make SA mandatory before the energy?

I know Spider screws you out of Cobalt, but getting the energy doesn't.

Yes.
