yeah so last night, i was in mining station b (the room where you get the dark beam combo) messing around, and ...

12:47:06 AM: Nate: um
12:47:11 AM: Nate: a worm just threw me into a secret world

the irony here should not be lost on anyone who has been here for any length of time. i was just in there, minding my own business, when bam, i'm a secret worlder now. someone said i should make the 'official metroid prime 2 secret worlds topic' at gamefaqs, or even over at samusforum.co.uk.

i proceeded to use the secret world to load the room behind the benzium rocks with the missile expansion and attempt to collect said expansion while in a secret world state. unfortunately, i couldn't seem to rise up through the floor enough to touch the expansion, at least not with my limited knowledge of secret worlds, and dropping back into the 'real world' would have been out of the question (i would have been stuck in there behind the benzium rocks).

so i just decided to fall for a while and turn off the game.

as far as i know, this kind of "clipping out" is more common in prime 2 than in the original, since i've already seen a pirate fall through a floor, and now being thrown through a wall by a common enemy ...

one last thing:

01:28:10 AM: banks|mp: you should call them "wormholes"
01:28:16 AM: Nate: rotflmao
01:28:18 AM: Trebor: haha
01:28:21 AM: Nate: official name accepted

Shocked

Where exactly in the room did this happen? And do you think it's repeatable? I don't think SW's are as common in MP2 as I would like to hope there is. They've been paying attention it seems. But getting enemies to push you up and over is good! :D

You up for trying to replicate it again Nate?
I('d) like to watch (some MP3 runs)
Like I said Nate, go make a SW topic at gamefaqs now.
not much to replicate afaik; just get near a wall (not sure which one; probably the one across from you when you enter the main part of the room) and morph and let the worm guy throw you. if he's facing the right way, perhaps he'll throw you through the wall like he threw me through. throw through threw though.
That same worm threw me inside the Denzium(?) rock blocking the door. I was stuck in the rock until the worm pulled me out and threw back into the level.

I tried to get the worm in the first big room in Agon to throw me out too, but he wouldn't come that close to the wall  Rolling Eyes
One shall stand, one shall ball.
That's one strong worm, though I don't seem to remember any worms in Mining Station B, I probably killed it before I recognized it.
I just proved that nate's wormholes do in fact exist.  It can also be done in Mining Plaza.

I jumped right into a SW in Ruined Alcove..actually went through the door when I was above it, then got stuck in Torvus Lagoon.  :(
Rename this topic to ***official w0rmh0l3 topic*** :P
What do the wormholes actually do?  I can't tell from the videos but it looks like you fall in them and then cannot get out?  Or do they allow you to do anything else?
Yes, that's all they do.

Samus.co.uk is far more interested in finding them than we are, and it's sort of a running joke.

Ready and willing.
Well, sometimes you can use them to go to other rooms outside the level boundries, and you can get plopped back in with a cutscene. In MP (where they weren't wormholes as there was no worm involved) this has led to a few interesting things, although nothing that lowers percent or makes things faster. (Moving around in a SW is usually horribly, horribly slow from what I've heard.)
