This is a little off topic ...

I remember back in the day when I never really got onto the internet, but I would sit at home playing Fusion on my horribly lit GBA for hours on end trying to beat my previous fastest times. I thought I was the only one who did that.

Then, I learned of a new breed of gamers ... Speed Runners. And I was like OMG I suck compared to them.

Then I got VBA .. and started to do SR's on that. Fusion was always the best, there are so many places to shinespark. I especially love trying to do the trick in late AQA that gets you the secret message ... I know yall have a name for it I just cant remember at this moment. Has anyone actually done that on and actual GBA and not an emulator?

Even the original and harder way of getting the secret message has been done by many people I'm sure, including myself.

Did somebody make this into a new topic? Cuz I dont even remember posting it.

Anyways I guess I will keep this topic going then.

I have been trying to do this crazy trick on my DS and I get as far as setting the power bomb in the tall shaft to clear out some of the enemies, then I always lose my shinespark. I dont know if it goes away becuase of the power bomb, or because I wait to long, or what. I have it down pat untill that point. Can anyone give me some tips on performing this trick?

I dont have much advice, I just practiced it a lot. I suggest remembering where the enemies are and shooting them with your beam quickly as you go up the shaft. Good luck!
