alternate escape route from Mother Brain

The one time it worked, as I posted recently, I had been hit by a rinka beforehand and sort of messed around getting a refill, then it just didn't appear; I did this rather than just running straight into her little chamber, as I normally do. I doubt it if that made a difference, but it might have.

Edit: Razor, not actively until, I assume, just barely. I never really pointed it out before because I didn't think it would amount to anything; I never even considered what we're thinking about right now.

Guys,I've tried that all 'cept for cutscenes. Save rooms won't work while the countdown is running. Going into Mother Brains room after killing her won't be the destroyed Tourian state,but a state just w/o mother brain& Zebetites. Getting items,even "new" ones(like Super missiles if you didn't have some before) won't stop the timer. I will try that w/cutscenes soon.

I wonder if there's a way to get to Tourian without beating Ridley and/or Kraid. I'd imagine that would only work through an emu cheat/hack though...

So the trying to get early Power Bombs by escaping Mother Brain's room the back way after the countdown is going doesnt work, eh? Disappointing.

Dark SA-X: Not that I can think of. Even if you use AR/Codebreaker to go to Tourain backwards, it won't matter. the elevator to Tourain is there, however it doesn't move. The room before the elevator will be exploding without a timer, then after exiting the elevator, that room will be post-explosion. And your ship will be gone. I wonder what would happen if you went and beat Mother Brain after cheating like that... The game takes away your ship...

And I highly doubt (Even with easy mode's five minutes) that anyones skilled enough to reach a cut scene to stop a timer. Besides, it won't matter. All doors are greyed out during the exploion. Except for the one leading back to the Tourain elevator. Which is green. Then under the elevator, back in Tourain, the door into Mother Brain's room is grey.

The only thing I can think of would be to find an early Power Bomb and use it in the room between Tourain elevator and the room with your ship. However, the door to Brinstar would most likely be greyed anyways.

Besides, if what XtraX is true then figuring a way out of the countdown is pointless. What are the rest of the Power Bomb expansions? I'll go through them all eventually, and see if any are possible. But I highly doubt it. Zero Mission is pretty well built against early Power Bombs.

Power Bombs are just too important. They'd let you skip the suitless part. So... Can't be done.

Perhaphs, but it needs to at least be rerecorded before that can happen. Still can't believe I messed up the ballspark in norfair. >_< Is it possible on Hard with only 2 minutes?

Went through Chozodia and got the power bombs, then went back to the tourian escape. I didn't notice anything different, and I got both items there. Guess that can't screw up the game like I was hoping. >_>

Btw, are there any cutscenes before Chozodia that you can skip and come back to later? I think I proved that we have enough time for that, but I can't remember any that you can skip.

I don't think there are...
I can go try and see what happens if I use an AR to break into Ridley through that connection passage from Kraid, and save the cutscene there, but somehow I feel that the goal here is to do it without an AR...

A the ridley coming to brinstar cut scean can dissapeer with out AR.

But after 3 weeks of invistigating everything i needed to know there is no cut scean you can skip in chozodia. Don't waste your life like i did.

Not without an AR ;) Will edit this post if the Mother Brain block doesn't appear and I activate that cutscene during the timer...

EDIT: Dang block keeps appearing... I know I've played a game where it didn't...
