I personally had to, because I tried it without cheating, and my halfassed AxisPad was being anal and making the D-pad unresponsive. So I was getting hit left and right, and I said, "oh what the f***, I'll just cheat and check this out :P".

Yeah, you know that room with the morph ball area right under it that has absolutely nothing in it? And those high ledges that lead you out? Then there's that room above that you can't see w/o space jump. I think it's the one with the power bomb upgrade....

You need moonjump or some code with that effect to keep going.
since the room JaggerG mentioned is built that way, the only way to get to the top and continue on towards nettori is to moonjump up to the top, and then continue on.

Is the underwater walljump trick impossible if you aren't in water then? 'Cause otherwise why not use that trick? And isn't the wall only like 2 meters from each other? Guess I'll try walljumping up there next time I play.

You know where the ceiling has two "rooms" and one on the right has two red guys and a powerup? The room below is two stories tall. I think it's the top right room connected to the long vertical shaft to get to the hoppy tree friends boss.

yes, it is impossible. if you are unbelievably good, like sesshoumaru, you can avoid losing any height, but you don't gain any.
