I'm not getting back into the business of sprite comics or anything, but there was this one scene in Other M that's just so completely bizarre that it begs for the Maru Mari treatment. So I present to you, for one night only, a new Maru Mari strip. You can probably tell I wasn't the one that normally handled the sprites.

Panel 4,5,6 are priceless man, I almost spit up my drink.  The whole thing is great really.  There are a lot of the WTF moments in MOM.  You should do more.

The entire game from that point was incredibly rushed. Like there were so many people pressing for different things, so they didn't do any.

"hey, let's revisit Tourian and send the game even more into awesome Ridley Scott territory!"
"Fuck that, I wanna make Ridley wish I'd killed him when he was a pussy little furball!"
"If you guys don't settle down we won't get anything done, and nobody wants- OH GREAT LET'S JUST THROW THE QUEEN BACK IN AND MAKE HER REALLY FUCKING EASY"

I had enjoyed the game a lot, story aside, until the fucktarded Adam-shooting-you scene. Then it pretty much ends right there.

Yeah, I have to admit that scene was a huge tease. I was really looking forward to a 3D Tourian, and then Adam had to come in and mess things up. But at least to me it made sense from a story perspective why he didn't want Samus to go in there. Would've been nice to at least SEE what it was like in there even if we didn't get to play through it.

Only guess I have from what I remember of that scene is that otherwise Samus would've gone into Sector Zero herself and Adam didn't want to lose her. By shooting her she was weakened for a few minutes and couldn't stop him from going in instead of her.

This strip is priceless. My only jab I want to take was that Adam wasn't wearing his helmet in that cutscene, but I'll live with that.

This makes me wish that we had a huge argument between Adam and Houston. Or wonder what happened if Houston was the teammate with Samus in Other M (especially about how they would gripe about going through S3 without turning on the Varia).

Yeah, you'll also notice Adam doesn't have a friggin arm cannon on that scene either. I did not want to spend effort on these sprites, obviously. Sprites are not my thing.

yea, this scene was strange...

i still think from this point ownards, the game had the MGS2 treatment...

nothing makes too much sense, and you just keep going because you are already there...

It is Nintendo, they always tease us with things that would have been amazing.
For example, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, they teased us with a would-be amazing game, but the expert troll Masahiro Sakurai delivered utter crap.

This wasn't any different, but at least this game is fun to play.

In my opinion you need to ressurect Maru Mari. Just look at Planet Zebeth. Kabutroid still creates comics just for the fans. I have a feeling you need to do the same.

I did have a few ideas for a couple more MMs, but tbob is quite right. Maru Mari's time has passed. Besides, I felt kinda bad naming even this one Maru Mari without Houston's involvement.

Houston the person, not Armstrong Houston the character.
