It's only really annoying when you have Diddy and don't want to hover. Then you have to press A right when you land on the enemy and the timing is a bit tricky.
I've tried holding A down before landing on them, I've tried pressing right before landing on them and then letting go, I've tried pressing right before landing on them and continuing to hold, I've tried pressing at the exact moment and land on them and then letting go, I've tried pressing at the exact moment I land on them and then holding, every single method yields the same results - sometimes it works but it usually does not. Maybe something is wrong with my A button?
In DKR to high bounce off an enemy you can hold A at any time before landing on them, but after bouncing off one you have to let go and re-press A before landing on the next one.
Tried this out and it looks like this isn't quite true; you need to press/hold within about a second of landing. Still the timing seems way more lenient than I thought it was. (In Tropical Freeze, at least...)
I think there is something wrong with the game because when you google the issue, some people are flabbergasted that anyone would have a hard time with it and other people are saying it's nearly impossible to do, then when you read the advice from the people who aren't having issues they often give totally different advice and don't even agree on how to do it.
They're basically little collectible figurines. They're kinda like trophies in Smash. I don't think they do anything, they're just nice to look at.
ah ok, that's what i thought they were. since i'm not going for 100% anyway, not really interested in wasting coins on them when i could have stuff to make the game easier/faster instead.
i remember having difficulty bouncing off enemies too until i got the hang of it ... iirc you have to time your press of a, then keep holding it to bounce
it's not like most nintendo games where you can start holding a while you're in the air, falling toward the enemy
why do people still think there is such a thing as "on topic" or "off topic" on m2k2? it seems to be just you hardcore metroid guys who don't post in the social boards :P
