What do you reckon the chances are of M2ROS getting a remake like NES Metroid did? Would a Zero Mission style M2ROS ever be made, and if so, d'you reckon it'd be good? Discuss.
no and no. It was a less popular game. Enough people already complain about it's linearity. If they change that, it's too different. I saw it at Gamestop for $15 and was surprised it was so high. It's a less popular game for the first generation GameBoy. I'd think I could get it for like $5 or something. I'll probably buy it from my friend for like $8 or something.
I think the chances are terrible, though I'd love to see it happen. Unlike some, I'm all for remakes of games, especially greyscale ones, containing no map and dated graphics.
I loved Metroid 2, and I want to see it in color, and I want to see all of the Metroids in better graphics. Also, some additional backstory on the Metroids themselves would be good.
I'm with LifeMega on this one. I'd love to see a remake of Return of Samus. That'd be awesome. But like StarBlade, I'd like an in-game map. Metroid was a game where you could beat it without a map because it wasn't all that big of a game, but Return of Samus? I got lost so many times in that game. Even if I busted out with a player's guide or downloaded a map from GameFaqs or someplace, I'd still be lost.
The Metroid evolutions in Gameboy Advance graphics would be awesome. I'd say in DS graphics, but since I don't have a DS and haven't played Hunters in a store somewhere, I've no idea what the DS is capable of graphics-wise. And from what I've seen on other games, the Advance has a lot better graphics. Frankly, the DS reminded me of the graphics of Wolfenstein 3D. So if there is a remake, I'd want it on the Advance.
And just to make a point for the (Possible) remake... Fix the Spider Ball's controls!
Nah, I mean the way if you start Spidering up a wall, you'll get to the ceiling. You keep holding the D-pad up, and you Spider along the ceiling left or right. You travel in a direction that you're not holding. In Prime and Echoes, there were still a few points where you might get away with that for maybe a split second, but no longer. That just got annoying to me that I could hold up and go left then release up for a second, hit it again and start going right. Because the Spider Ball controls in Return of Samus ewre messed up like that.
I thought it was funny rolling on a spike. I'd hold down and go right, release and hold it again and go left, then keep doing it. Got bored after a few seconds, though.
Someone should make a remake of Return of Samus. If memory serves correctly, weren't Pokemon Fired/Leaf Green nothing but excellent remakes made by Pokemon fanboys that Nintendo actually bought out and then sold themselves?
I wouldn't mind seeing a remake. I enjoyed this game a lot, but thena gain, it was my first Metroid game, so there is a decent bit of sentimentality there I suppose.
The different mutations of metroids is probably the thing I like most.
Better graphics, an in game map, and maybe some storyline added in? Sure, I'd be all for it.
Ditto. Just... They need to do something with Samus' sprite in Zero Mission! Was the only one that thought her holding the arm cannon at eye level looked moronic? That's why i liked the Fusion sprite better...
Definitely true, but I guess my main reasoning is simple nostalgia. Players see the gun-holding stance and immediately are reminded of the NES game, and then they're like "Whoa, this is actually a remake!" and get all nutty and such.
