You are not supposed to go to those areas yet, and I think you need more than 4 E-tanks for it.

Go to WS.

I can't reach WS. The room filled with water just before WS(Crateria) is my problem. Need Grapple beam! I hope I'm not supposed to bombjump sideways :(
Metroid Exp: Exploration - Great, Skills - Decent
Actually, there are two ways to go about it:

You can horizontal bomb jump

OR

You can do a speed wall jump by jumping at the last second then wall jumping off the far side of the missle pack ledge

Yeah this is one of the parts in the hack that tend to make people give up/get depressed. There is no easy way over it (though once learned, the CWJ isn't that hard at least).

To do the CWJ in the easiest way:

1. Stand in the room before the missile lake with the door leading to it closed
2. Get up right next to the door and once you run in to it open.
3. Run through normally and make a savestate during the transition
4. Jump on the absolute last frame possible and hold jump until you hit the roof
5. Press and hold jump again when you are just about to pass the pillar in the middle, the window in which you can do this is 2 frames (it helps if you have taken the missile pack already).
6. Just hold jump until you land on the next platform.
I'm stuck again...can't make it to Maridia...Is there a key item to find in WS? If not
I need help to get pass the first Crateria room(with water) between WS and Maridia

There is no new upgrade in maridia. In that room turn of highjump at the last platform, the jump still needs to be pretty precise, but it's not that hard.

Eh I haven' collected high jump yet I only got
morph ball, bombs, spazer, missiles and super missiles and I'm heading to Maridia

Well Hijump is in its usual place, so you should probably get it, but you'll get back to around there soon enough so maybe you can go by without it, dunno if you will get stuck or not but I don't think so at least.

If you are stuck in the maze room (I though it was the room just outside of WS, with the jumping enemies at the beginning) just keep looking, passage is there somewhere. And if you really can't find it you can see the path through it in the 3rd part of my TAS on my youtube channel.
Hey, like this hack so far. It just improves upon the difficulty of the original. Anyways Im stuck. Im stuck at noob bridge. Basically if I go back, well I cant unless I have speed booster. Im right in the beginning and I only have 2 missle packs. I need to do the mockball across the bridge but spikes are above me and theres no way to jump onto the bridge into mockball cause of the invisible blocks even if hypothetically I had high jump boots. Im using savestates but I do reg. saves as well. I thought that If I eventually get speed booster I could just run under it but thats probably not gonna happen.

I think my issue is getting a hidden super missle pack...?

So without spoiling too much can someone point me in the right direction.

You're gonna want to cross that

get on the bridge, jump into the spikes, while briefly invulnerable do a mockball

Actually that's easy compare to what you will have to do in other levels ;)
Super Secret Area - Dead Ahead!
Yes, this hack is fairly aptly named.  While not impossible, it's certainly a steep ramp up in difficulty from the vanilla game.  Patience will probably be your biggest obstacle, though, as retrying some tricks a whole heap of times will almost become required.
I agree.  This hack is definitely not for someone who is just now asking how to mockball.  But maybe I'm just not as patient as others.  If it were me I would be mastering other slightly less difficult hacks before taking this one on.
lol I know how to mockball. Ive done it in the past on console andrecently on emus. But it was always hit or miss cause Im not a SM hack freak. I prefer fighting games cause they acually take skill and there is no save states. You play against humans and its a battle of wits of who can outsmart the other...usually lol. Anyway as you can see by my post I figured out how to do it and know once and for all how to officially do it without hesitation.  Wink
Super Secret Area - Dead Ahead!
You make it sound like Super Metroid (and its hacks) take no skill to play.  I don't think that's true at all.  Also, you don't HAVE to use save states, you know.  If you 'ruin' your own game by using save states, then don't use them.  I often play SNES games, and some hacks, without save states, as it's more like playing on console.

No no, you got it all wrong. The only game that takes skill to play is WoW. Or was it CS? No, Quake is definitely the only game that requires true skill. Halo... hmm... Wii Music?
Phazon Vasteel Autobot
How in the holy name of @#$%! i can do the bomb jump? Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

Super Secret Area - Dead Ahead!
You need to do a diagonal bomb jump.  Lay your bomb, and then nudge to the right.  As the bomb is about to go off hold toward it, and lay your second bomb immediately (like you normally would to do a double bomb-jump).  You will notice that by holding toward the bomb, you move to the right more than usual.  lay a bomb at the peak and arc back toward the bomb.  If you've timed it right, you'll get bounced back up from the second bomb you laid, and, by arcing back to the right, off the third one in the air.  With a few (dozen) tries, you should get it.

Oh, and good luck. aiwebs_011
This post still alive? Awesome. Dunno if Saturn reads it or not still, but hell, worth a shot.

Saturn, I have to say, amazing game.

I've always been a huge fan of SM, and I recently downloaded it on my Wii. After playing it for a while, I eventually ended up stumbling upon this gem while looking at YouTube videos to learn sequence breaks. I WAS going to try an NBMB run on my emulator, but then I found BeholdMyStrength's "Let's Play SMI" on YouTube and was instantly sucked in- I had only RECENTLY learned some of the techniques that were REQUIRED to get through this game, but I absolutely had to step up to the challenge. It's seriously a raging addiction. I won't touch my gaming console until this game is finished. It's so amazing to see what somebody with SO little resources can do to the bosses. I LOVE being forced to "think" while playing this game again, and for that, sir, I thank you.

With that said, I DID find a way to avoid CFing before GT without being ridiculously skilled- simply activate the chozo statue, then get the hell outta lower norfair, refill, then come back at it! It's like a 2-tank cushion, which was very good because I REALLY would have hated to have to pull more than 2 SMs out of GT's mouth. Ridley dies tomorrow, and then I item hunt like a madman :)

I'm totally making an "I Beat SMI" banner and putting it on my Myspace when I slay this beast.
Thanks for the nice comments, Greenspectre. I'm glad you enjoy SMI and the challenges it offers.

If you plan to go for 100% item hunting, you should know that it will be extremely difficult on your own, as it took more than a half year for the entire community to accomplish that since the release of the hack.

In any case, good luck with it.

PS:
It's also cool to see you found it through BMS's "Let's play SMI" videos. I watched them all too, and was thoroughly entertained by the nice editing, funny commentary and excellent gaming skill. Smile
I've read the forum posts, so I know how to get the tube missiles and the X-Ray scope, but I'm leaving most of the other secrets to discover on my own. I DID find the way into the room at the top of Red Brinstar on my own though!
THE MISSION WAS COMPLETED SUCCESSFULLY!

Yayz!
hey saturn nice hack the super metroid impossible, and hard hack.
I downloaded this recently and am having quite a bit of fun with it!

I just go the plasma beam, via spring ball, via grapple beam, etc etc.

Getting spring ball without space jump proved quite difficult, you had to throw in the enemies right at the top as well didn't you Saturn?!
What'd you say?
AHH!!! How the fuck do you do the first damn mockball!?!?!? I don't want to have to resort to TAS.
