Every Bit Counts
I can't wait to watch it. I hope you find a way to get your health/missiles/super missiles/power bombs back without wasing too much time. This TAS will look so awsome when it's done. also, it was just the other day that I was watching your vids wondering when you would finish it.
I have to say, the way I got into this hack is kind of funny, as I didn't intend to actually play this at first. I saw a few of Lance Uppercut's videos and thought "No way, I'm not playing this. There's no way I could do all those crazy stunts". Then, some time later I decided I would download it just for laughs and mess around, and as soon as it became too hard I would quit. I played Super Metroid a lot as a child, but I had little exposure to sequence breaking beyond a few short videos, so naturally I didn't feel very confident in my ability to play Impossible. Before I played this hack, I could not do mockball, fast wall jump, short charge, nor diagonal bomb jump (although I have always been good at infinite bomb jump). However, I watched a short tutorial on how to do mockball, then went to Crateria and practiced for awhile, and now I can do mockball :) I did the same for the other techniques as well. Next thing I know I'm getting past areas I never thought I would, and I've progressed much further into the game than I ever expected (I have killed Ridley and collected most items). I haven't been frustrated with this hack like I thought I would be, but it has instead turned out to be a fun challenge. :)

I guess this goes to show that you never know what you're capable of until you try :D

Anyway, that's my little story XD
That is quite a story you have there. How long ago did you pick Impossible up?

I first saw it about a month or so ago, and I downloaded it about a week and a half ago.
Yay! I completed Super Metroid Impossible :D Clear time was 6:25

That was really, really fun! Thanks for the hack Saturn :) I did a lot of things I didn't know I could do by playing this XD
Is there any easier way to get through the WS missile lake? I've spent almost 5 hours trying to HBJ across, and I can't do it for anything even with massive slowdown.

The only other way I've seen (I think it was a TAS by Kriole but I could be wrong) is getting enough speed for a jump to the missle ledge from the room prior and walljumping off the upper right corner of the ledge. It looked so amazing I thought it was Impossible.

Just tried it, and all I'm getting is my speed cut and still not making it after the walljump. Is there some trick to keep your speed after the walljump?

If you unspin during the walljump you will keep your prior speed.
Almost happy

Well that depends on how you are doing it, if you are doing it like a normal walljump (turning around to make it) you can't keep your speed. If you are however succesful in doing a walljump without turning around just hold jump and keep holding until you land on thh other side, releasing jump (without unspinning first) will make you loose all speed.

As for how to do the walljump, if you are not already doing it the right way that is.

Start in the room to your left, make sure that the door to the missile lake is closed. press against the door so that you are standing as close to it as possible, open the door and run through it. Make a savestate. Now on the last possible frame jump, then just hold jump until you hit the roof and start going down. Release jump and when you are just about to pass the ledge press and hold jump again, the time window is 2 frames if you hit the ledge you jumped to early. If you succeed just hold jump until you are over at the other side. IMO much easier than HBJing over, especially with savestates.

Thanks, with that information I got over on my first try (with a little slowdown, admittedly.)
plasma beam v.2.0
i hate you.  SPIKES AROUND THE MORPHBALL!?!?  otherwise, just beat kraid and its amazing.  thank you for a real challenge.  btw, wheres the first supermissle tank?  i spent an hour stuck in the first few rooms before i had to give in and give myself a single missle... ill do a true run later

You are supposed to go through gauntlet after morphball bombs. Super missiles are after crocmire.

Also I'm almost done now, screwattack and icebeam left before tourian : )
I've heard that ice beam is a pain to do efficiently/quickly... Any truth to this?
Almost happy
Well getting the item in itself is not hard at all, it's in the maridia turtle room where the E-tank used to be. But to get icebeam you need gravitysuit and screwattack, and to get gravitysuit you need wavebeam. So all in all it's a pretty big detour which can't be skipped because Saturn made the metroids resistant to PB's but it's not really hard to do.

Also just got in to tourian. I'll probably finish in 1 or 2 days.

Go go go! I can't wait to see this.

dont you need pbs to get out of the gauntlet?  and wow, never would have thought of the gauntlet.
I have a theory, that I'm too lazy to test, concerning the turrets in Draygon's room. I noticed a while back that the turrets don't fire at the same rate. Sometimes they will be spewing the electricity out like mad, sometimes they won't, and sometimes they will very slowly. Now I believe that there may be a pattern of some sort.

Now my theory relies on which action the turrets use and how many frames between each action. Let's say that when you enter the room, the turrets are firing like mad. And let's say that there are set frames for action transitions such as 2000 frames from spewing like mad to not spewing at all, or any other of the 3 variations.

This may make real-time Draygon less tedious as I have gotten really close before.
Very good the hack friends, I go for maridia but I cannot happen(pass) from Draygon
Almost happy
Some guy claims that he beat draygon fair and square, no tools, no damage. Sounds pretty unbelievable, and since there is no concrete proof I will stay somewhat skeptic to this, but the video is there non the less, so go ahead and analyze the crap out of it if you wish laugh new
He said he used savestates. Apparently savestates are no longer "tools." Tell him that what he's done is nothing special.
Almost happy
Lol, yeah having the ability to redo something to infinity until you get the wanted result is nothing compared to the ability of playing at 50% speed...
He's still denying it. Hate to say it but he's a fucktard.

Help please! Just got SM and Spazer and now I don't know where to go.
edit: found the way
but I only got 3 E-tanks. Think I need 4 at least. Doing hells run to reach wave beam and speedbooster(where they are in the original)
Almost happy
You are not supposed to go to those areas yet, and I think you need more than 4 E-tanks for it.

Go to WS.
