And about the run, Spidey, you say you made like 53 mistakes, and I counted like...maybe 35 obvious ones, including bomb jumping after you get the spring ball. Did you mess up your route or anything?
I noticed that against the larva, you stood still to let the ripper get into position, instead of climbing up the left side to maybe save a couple seconds. Is this a cautionary strategy or something? O_o
Also, I believe Maur mentioned some place that he heard Kraid First might actually be a faster route. I agree, but Dragonfangs found a slight route difference that gets you a third super missile tank before Mother Brain, and that TAS is something like 12 seconds faster than his Kraid First TAS. So next time you consider running this again, I suggest you either go for that Brinstar super missile tank from Kraid to Tourian, or just do Kraid First (but that means skipping Hello-Jump).
I've been interested in doing a run myself, but my best normal segmented time is just barely under 30. Maybe I could beat your time in like six segments, just because I backtracked for Hello-Jump then, and I didn't exactly have a perfect game, either - but that's not gonna happen for quite some time.
