The only thing with Ridley is; the longer the charge beam is "inside" Ridley, the more damage done. Further more, don't use flare on Ridley, it kinda sucks

I think the strategy MASTER-88 was refering to was for ridley, which I have my own. Yakuza's first form is not the problem, and the second form is not that hard for me either. And I'm quite sure I can beat yakuza faster than that.

What is 'flare'? Assuming you're referring to diffusion missiles, it's illegal in speed runs anyway, I think. It causes massive slowdown, and I seem to remember nate saying that slowdown for accuracy was not allowed, which this sorta is (although shame on you if you can MISS Ridley... SHAME ON YOU ALL! GET INTO DA CHOPPAH FOR J00R PWNAGE SOUP!!). And anyway, they don't damage him.

I think he referred to the "flare damage" that every charged beam deals at point-blank range. It involves a little flare at the end of Samus's cannon.

If you use flare on Ridley, the wave beam will be inside for less, therefore not causing as much damage.

So unless you have really good aim, avoid point blanc
