Wow, I feel really stupid for posting this, but I couldn't find anything on it so here goes.

In my 15% run, I decided to try some tricks for the hell of it and see what I could do. This included Skipping Acid worm. The thing is, though, that I already have my 15%--9 Reqiured plus the high jump, screw attack, 3 super missiles, and an Energy Tank-- and I saved after beating Kraid.

So my question is, without getting the speed booster, How/Can I get out of Kraid now, with the zip lines still dead? Or is my only option starting over?

I'm sorry if this is obvious/noted somewhere, but I couldn't find anything on it and I don't want to start over if I don't have to.

Thanks.

If you skip the Acid Worm, you have to get the Speed Booster, I believe.  You have to either fight the worm and then you can skip Speed Booster, or you have to pick up SB if you skip the worm.

lol no way
Alas, Scarlet is indeed right. There's no way out without getting the speedbooster... it had been hypothesized that one could potentially hover/horizontal bombjump across the "rio room", which is the problem room... but anyone who's tried has failed due to the rios knocking them in the water. Sorry man. This is a fairly common problem. :(
Oh well. Thanks for the quick responses, by the way.

Here we go again (:

Your mouth is at the top of your head!!!  Shocked

Sometimes by being too leet (skip Acid Worm) you are too leet for the game itself.  :?
Wouldn't it be possible to kill those flying thingies before attempting a horizontal bombjump? Would take a bit long but still.

They don't all appear on the side of the screen you enter at, I don't think.  So you'd have to like HBJ halfway across, and then back while they're flying at you to kill them.
I see. Well if anyone wants to try, be my guest ;)
Time bomb set get out fast!
What about the Ice Beam?  If FiZZ has the required items, he must have that.  Is it useful at all?  Can you, say, freeze a Rio far enough away that the screen scrolls when you bomb your way onto it?  Then you could kill the next one and so on till they were gone, and HBJ the rest of the way.  I don't know if this is feasible and I don't have half the bomb jumping skill to find out; has anyone else tried?
Cook of the Sea
I think if someone could come up with a horizontal bomb jumbing pattern that somehow kept an explosion or two in front of you almost the whole time (it couldn't be all the time as you'd have to lay the bombs at some point), like somehow moving forward, laying a bomb, then moving backward, and then farther forward, and so forth.  Thoughts?
One shall stand, one shall ball.
I'd say the best bet would be to freze the Reos(?) and use them as platforms, may take a while though.
lol no way
I honestly don't think it'll happen, but your ideas are very intriguing. I like Zeke's idea of freezing one on the edge of the screen... I'll try it in a new game really quick, but it would require me getting the long beam really quick. Hell, I'm not even sure there are any rios onscreen when you first enter.
Looking at the clip in the ZM section of the site it looks like one or two are visible in the acid when you first go in but don't move until you're over them.  I was wondering myself whether it'd be possible to lure them over to the right and then destroy them but that seems like it'd need some painful precision with bombjumping, especially since the block you would normally jump up to the zipline from is destroyed with a bomb.
Mabey it's possible to [HBJ] back?

It comes back, though, if I remember.

It does, but it'd be easier if it didn't... I mean, the 2 tiles that it is out there is not comperable to the 2 tiles it is up. It's worth more to start lower than it is to start higher.
One shall stand, one shall ball.
Huh, point taken, never have HBJ'd across anything probably should try that sometime.
lol no way
It's pretty difficult to get a hang of, and there's really no perfecting it... you can get good at it but I still make mistakes like 80% of the time. >_>
One shall stand, one shall ball.
Yes but you see, I can't even IBJ worth a damn anymore.
