1:27 run: http://www.filefront.com/17074019/MetroidPrime2-Miles-1.27.mp4

Was streaming last night and got this. I want to improve this further; however, this is still a good run for the most part, and I'm sure that some people will want to watch it, so I went ahead and uploaded it.

At the rate I'm improving at, I should have sub-1:20 in less than two weeks, right? :D

Edit: Also, if anyone has ideas for improvements to the route, that'd be great.
Thread title:
wow, i haven't got a chance to watch it yet but isn't that like 3 minutes faster then DJ's segmented run. You are really kicking this games butt! Keep up the amazing stuff.
no time to watch it now, but well done.
54:30..that was close X]
MilesSMB...I like your kind to play!.. you walk in the SW as you would have never done anything else..*_*

C'mon, I'm sure you can do a lot better than that :P
I'm not sure but wouldn't it be faster to skip gravity boost ?
Also, wouldn't it be faster to trigger the fight before Meditation Vista (50:00) rather than jumping above the trigger ?

That might be faster during your first trip through Lower Torvus, but then you'd lose a lot of time when you go back to fight the Power Bomb Guardian.

If I actually realized that I made it up first try... Killing them would probably be more consistent, though.
I'm seriously trying to get a good (submittable) run now, so I'd really appreciate it if anyone had suggestions for improvements... I really don't want to finish a great attempt and have something obvious pointed out to me afterward.

Also I just finished a seemingly terrible run, and got myself my third 1:35. :\
always move fast
i'd look at doing chykka after light suit, and for a key route go: upper torvus -> lower torvus -> sanc -> agon -> temple.  you lose time getting one of the temple keys after light suit, and getting the key in sanc, but you save time by not having to detour from lower torvus.  can go boost -> gravboost/grapple -> sanc.

i'm not sure if it's actually faster or not, but it sure seems like it to me.

edit: also, regarding getting the key behind spider guardian: you can enter a sa sw in the close side of that room (next to the elevator, and just hope over to the far side.  getting back can be done with some terminal fall schenanigans (see dj's 17% run).  takes very little time to actually get the key.

One big problem I noticed: When would you get Seekers? The best time I can think of would be after returning to Temple Grounds when you finish Sanctuary, though that seems like a lengthy detour. This would also mean you wouldn't have Seekers in Sanctuary, which would lose a pretty decent amount of time. You can't just get them immediately after Torvus and take the Agon entrance instead; doing that eliminates any benefit you get from putting Chykka off.

With the lack of Seekers plus the far slower Sky Temple key route, I honestly don't see how this would be faster than doing Chykka during the first Torvus trip. It'd also be decently harder; you'd only have 4 tanks for the Annihilator skip wallcrawl (- any extra damage you take from having to use a farther away portal), and that jump across Dynamo Works looks very easy to screw up.

Edit: I just realized that the lack of Dark Visor means you couldn't use Seekers anyway. >_> Whatever, still the same amount of time lost.

alright, sounds reasonable to me.  iirc seekers speed up adult chykka battle a bunch (total of 4 light rounds instead of 8), but if you say it's not enough, i believe you.  =p

That's so nice to look at.

I'm still going to try to improve this further (I wasn't satisfied at all when I was running it... And beating the current SDA run by 10 minutes would be nice. :P); it may be pretty difficult to knock off another minute, though. Anyway, go be amazed by the first ever sub-1:30 MP2 run. <_<

All that's left to say is: *** CONGRATULATIONS ***

Very well done.

Bananas GOOD, Kremlings BAD
Good stuff, Miles.  I'll watch it later. More more more.

time to watch the run the way it was meant to be watched. the stream was lagging bad for me yesterday and i couldn't see most of it.

also, guys this is not the place for SW debates.

alright, a download so I can finally PAUSE and pick it back up where I missed it!
It feels so good to have so many good things out of MP2 (recent 14%, 100% and any%), which is for some reason as enjoyable as MP1 by far, no matter how unpopular this game seems to be in the community.
Is this the current record for mp2? I hate this game, so.

yeah, first sub 1:30 ever.

i watched the run and it looked quite good. the only unfortunate mistake was missing the BSJ after the meditation vista portal which costed like 15-20 seconds and several enemies didn't cooperate but i estimate between 1-1.5 minutes of mistakes across the whole run without counting the last bosses. the emperor was alright but DS seems to always ruin the final time by a lot. she alone ate like 1 minute compared to a good fight.
an improvement is possible but looks like you're at the range where everything has to go perfectly to shave a couple of minutes. 1:28 is doable if you manage all the things you got right in the run + a good DS fight but 1:27 seems like it would be too hard because just 1 mistake could put you at 1:28.

Thats long time my last visit.

1:29 is awesome time. world record in SDA is 1:38 thats all without SW stuffs. How much all SW stuffs saves time?

Its might be cool see SW run in SDA too. SW are cheating by most WR sites and thats surely must be seperate category in SDA. And yes it is seperate category in SDA. SDA allows secret worlds runs too but these all are seperate category.

I watched this.

This was best run what i ever see in this game. Especially when you did it single segment, that was truly great. Route seems really good, thats just one reason im not like secret worlds runs because its almost always possible find better wall crawls routes and etc... stuff. About run quality this your one was much better than S_E 1:57 run in SDA.

I think your one equal something 1:45-1:50 if you was played it without secret worlds. Thats hard to say because there is much route changes, but this surely was a lot better quality than SDA run.

Maybe you might make another one without used secret worlds. Thats cool see how many minutes you can beat SilentEcho run. I thinking quality like this its might are 1:45.

Thats one was crazy good run, i loved it. I can,t wait see even more cooler runs in future
