I have 110 Red Credits. I have no idea how or why. I scanned the Armored Pirate in East Skytown for the secret 109th, but where the 110th came from I have no clue. I scanned all of Gandrayda's forms, and I scanned Mogenar the first time when he had his shoes on, then I think I scanned him a second time in his normal form. Those are the only unusual enemy scanning things I could recall doing.

Useless little glitch but there isn't a glitch thread.

woo wat?

did you scan the training drone at the very beginning? i missed that one in my run.

i had 108 so i missed something else that isn't in the logbook...

Of course I scanned the training drone. 109 is supposed to be the max you can get. The one that isn't in the logbook is called Armored Pirate. It appears only once in Concourse, East Skytown, the first time you go there. It's the third pirate in the room. But somehow I got yet another one that isn't in the logbook.

It's because they added a new creature to the logbook, the "Despair-class turret", so there's 109 creatures total.

Is that the one on the deck where you first land on norion?  I remember scanning that one in the original but it was not part of the logbook.

It's the green turrets on the pirate homeworld. They used to be called remorse, like the red ones on bryyo and elysia, but now they're despair.

so, if i got everything posted already correctly, i actually missed 2 tokens and one of those is the secret pirate that isn't in the logbook.

i'll try to remember that when i play in normal. i'm at the pirate homeworld in my hypermode save already.

Okay, that makes sense. Thanks. I wonder why the turrets were the same name before, the green ones were clearly stronger.
I heard the Armored Pirate was removed in later releases of the original MP3, and I can't find him in my PAL Trilogy, either. I scanned everything in Concourse, but I'm still at 109 red credits.
He's still in. He's easily missable, because he's identical to the Armored Pirate Trooper.

I just put my original PAL MP3 release copy into my Wii and skimmed through the logbook, and the Despair-class turret is there. If they removed the Armored Pirate in the original PAL MP3 and put in the new turret, that would be why both original US and PAL releases have 109 red credits. If the US Trilogy MP3 is based on the US original MP3 and the PAL Trilogy MP3 is based on the PAL original MP3, and they added the new turret from the original PAL version to the US Trilogy version, which is based on the original US version, which seems to be the only version with the Armored Pirate, and they didn't fix him this time, it would explain why the US Trilogy can get both the Armored Pirate and the new turret, and thus 110 red credits. Long-winded explanations to avoid confusion ftw.

Edit: Played up to Concourse on my original PAL MP3 release copy, and the Armored Pirate was there, already scanned, just as the Despair-class turret, but I still have only 109 red credits, so one of them didn't yield one. When you said the Despair-class turret was added to the logbook, did you actually mean that or did they simply add another credit tied to that scan? Either way, they should have been aware any version gives at least 109 red credits, so why they didn't change the total credit amount needed to buy everything to account for that, I have no idea - unless you actually do need 109 red credits in the Trilogy.

Yeah, I know that PAL had the despair scan also.

I said there were 109 logbook creatures based off of this. I put it in MS word and checked the word count, and it showed 109 paragraphs. Add in the armored pirate and you get 110.

ooh now i see why i missed the pirate. he was in hypermode when i scanned him. since both were identical, i assumed getting the token from 1 was enough since the other one wasn't in hypermode.
Phoenix
You do need 109 red credits in Trilogy. I bought everything and only had 1 left. They made the Mii Bobblehead cost one more red than in the original.

makes sense considering the addition of the despair turret.

edit: i reached concourse in east skytown and i don't see the armored pirate. i scanned all the pirates that showed up but all 3 were green already..
Jagger ftw
well if you can't find it, finish the game and restart and scan every thing again. Your scan log carries over future games.

i didn't continue. i quitted and went back and still no pirate...

If you go to concorse, back up to the tram and reload concourse, he'll be the first pirate to appear.
